This video was ‘subjectively’ perfect. We were in Rome almost exactly two years ago and we did all of these things including the 25-30,000 daily steps. Loved this video. On a side note, we lost 5kgs each over 5 weeks due to the heat and constant walking. Even though we ate pizza, Chocolate, wine and beer constantly. Great content🙏🙏👍👍👏👏
haha - we are also suffering from that same problem - we walk literally all day in the sun, but still somehow stay the same weight. maybe we just needed to eat one less pizza per day :) and thank you so much for the kind words, we appreciate it
I’ve been to the Vatican Museum three times - the last just a few years ago. It was “pushed along” by the crowds and could barely breathe in there. The Sistine Chapel was like being on a crowded subway train. You are so lucky to be able to enjoy it with so few people there. I am looking forward to all your future videos. Your photography is great! So now, Lisa, you’re prepared for any other church in Italy. Keep that scarf handy!! Buon viaggio!
Hi Grace! Wow, what a vastly different experience. We feel super lucky that it's not as crowded. Thank you or watching and following along! And yes, I'm carrying that scarf with me in my bag throughout this whole trip! :)
So so cool! Honestly would feel the same way Lisa! You’re so far from home and it’s not just an easy quick trip to get back to your friends and family! But once you get acclimated it gets much easier! Hope y’all have tons of fun 😍 It looks amazing! - Drew
Glad to see that you like Italian pizza (without pineapple eh eh eh ...). I also admire your enthusiasm and optimism in every situation. Thumb up for you.
You guys make me want to come to Rome sooo bad now. Definitely during the week. Maybe 3- 4 days just to hit the Vatican, St. Peter's and the Coliseum would be epic. Maybe one a day. You guys stay hydrated. Way to go Josh I've been waiting to see those flip flops. 👊😎
Well, flights are pretty cheap right now. I’m willing to bet that all flights to Europe are going to be crazy expensive in a few weeks. Get on over here :)
There's no way you're getting me in an elevator that small! 😲 I remember the day I got stuck in an elevator on a cruise ship when the power went out. I literally forced the doors open (it stopped halfway bw floors) and climbed out!! I've been to the Vatican twice and remember being pushed through, nobody had any space to move.
The storytelling in this one is top-notch! While I'm disappointed that you obviously cut out the Vatican Catacombs part of your adventure (I've read Dan Brown, I know what's going on down there!) I really enjoyed Lisa's not-boring fun fact at the end. I've read a fair amount about the Sistine Chapel and didn't know about Grumpy Michelangelo. Just goes to show even the greats can have debilitating imposter syndrome too! That pizza looked like it was worth the 12 miles by itself. Yum!
Hi Lisa and Josh. Where did you stay? We're interested to visit Rome and we wanted to stay in a place close to mist of the attractions. Thank you and more power to your channel !!!
Hi Josefina! We stayed at the merulana holidays and loved it! They were so welcoming and the stay was sweet and comfortable. It was close to the colosseum, but also was on a beautiful neighborhood like street. we loved it
We are headed that way in 2 days. It would be very helpful if you could share some cost info - how you paid for things from food to tickets. I’m sure that would help grow your channel. As you did a very Kara&Nate coffee moment there, I’m sure you know a large part of there success is that Nate shares everything in regards to costs.
@@LisaAndJosh Thanks so much! We’ve been in Rome for 2 days now. Been fantastic! More crowds than we thought, but not bad by any means! Most seem local. Looking forward to seeing the week days! Headed to the Cinque Terre Thursday, then Milan, up to Switzerland’s Berner Oberland for 8 days, down through Venice and Florence, finishing back in Rome or Milan for a flight home! 4 weeks!

We did not :( that was closed when we went to visit (I think it’s generally open, we just went too late in the day) and thank you!!
It costs a few euros to go up but well worth it!

Whats the distance between St. Peter's Basilica to the Vatican museum ? Pls advice

What time of the year did you guys go?
We were there on July 12. And yes, empty. We felt lucky to have the place to ourselves.
It really feels both weird, and very welcome after previous visits of having thousands of people there all the time
