Ok, you've gotta watch this one all the way to the end. This was truly epic.
What a day. I mean, truthfully I'm not sure what to say other than moments like this are exactly what we travel for. We got the opportunity to watch the Euro Cup 2020 Final in Florence, Italy, and we even got to witness the exact moment that Italy won against England on penalties. It was such a close game all the way through, both sides played extremely well - the penalties could have gone either way.
Seeing Florence just erupt was quite a sight after the game - it felt like the entire country was celebrating all at once. Just getting to be there for something momentous like this was absolutely incredible. What a game, what a city. Congratulations Italy!!

Im italian but i live in the US...i actually happened to be visiting my family back in Italy during the euro cup. I couldn't have asked for a better time to be back there. Funnily enough, I'm originally from Florence but i was at the beach during the final (in Viareggio to be exact) i still had a great time but it was cool to see the celebrations in my town in this video! Hope you guys enjoyed your trip, i cant wait to be back there.

I'm happy that you liked the atmosphere you received in Florence for the final! I live in a city near Florence (Arezzo) but for the final i was at my grandparents house near Livorno. It was a fantastic experience, especially after seeing us lose the qualifications for the 2018 WC. Still FORZA AZZURRI and i hope you'll come back in Italy in the future again :)
i forgot about Italy losing the qualifications in 2018! what an incredible story and redemption for the team from that, to winning the EuroCup.

What you witnessed there was going on in every other major city throughout the country. This is what I love about this kind of celebrations. Everyone united in celebrating for the same reason. Ha yeah - it was truly incredible. I love that the whole country just stops and parties for this - we don't really have something like that in the US. It really did feel united, in a beautiful way.
Firenze is super beautiful at night - it's something with the golden lights that get used in Italy to light the streets, it gives it a very magical feeling. We use bright white lights on our streets in the US, which is practical in giving a lot of light, but doesn't look very good

Unfortunately no - with the Eurail pass in Italy (and France + Spain), seat reservations are mandatory, even if there's like 500 empty seats. We would've loved to skip them :) they're expensive and sometimes annoying to get

I guess it depends on the home…usually the same but lately there are so many different types that i guess we start to mix…on the other hand I believe the yougest generations are starting to use more “one double”…(i believe in the hotels we will keep the two separates just in case the two beds need to be splitted!)

I think the hotels close to the train stations often aren't very nice.
Even the area around the train stations in many cities is dangerous especially in the nighttime.
Avoid Milan train station area.
This is good advice - and I do think you're right. The ones near the train stations in Italy are usually not the best.

You experienced the final of the European cup, in the Italian city where they don't really like the national football team. The Florentines love the team from Florence and that's it. In fact, from the images of your video, little enthusiasm is perceived.
