    I love all your videos, but especially loved loved this one as I was in Venice a month ago - July 2023. So wonderful to see it again through your eyes. Venice is my most favourite place ever. Incredibly beautiful. Your video was wonderful. I love how you include out takes and bloopers at the end. So funny and cute. Thanks for your awesome videos. xx

    My wife & I were last in Venice (& Europe) 25 years ago. We were college students & broke. This was our honeymoon trip, gifted by our parents. Decided to do a month long packaged tour of 6 countries instead of having a big wedding. Best decision ever. Were on a budget but managed to see what we wanted & splurged on the excursion & some nice meals. The experience & memories are priceless. A honeymoon is only once, right? Like everyone has said, try not to stress. Good to see you guys smiling. Enjoy your trip, be flexible & stay safe.

    In Venice you can eat well for € 15/18 € just skip the tourist spots and look carefully at the prices 😉
    Also take a look at some places like 'Scuola Grande di San Rocco' 'Chiesa dei Frari' for example, they deserve it.
    Have a good holiday !

    I loved that you took the time to educate us on the rigorous training and history of gondoliers. I remember seeing some videos of Chinese tourists that rented a gondola ride. They kept standing up to take photos and disrespectfully ignoring the gondolier's requests to sit down. They ended up tipping over the boat and all they cared about was their cameras. The poor gondolier was rightfully furious. Can you imagine all the lost business until he repairs his boat (if possible), and how to get the gondola back? These tourists were the epitomy of disresprectful and privileged.

    I know a lot of people think that gondola's tours are expensive, which I thought too before I had my own trip: I think sitting on the gondola and sliding on the water surrounded by old decadent buildings it's the real Venice experience, something you don't get from the bigger boats crossing the canal or from land. Besides where the gondola goes you cannot go with normal boats because it's not deep enough, so you go through the "rii" (the narrow waterways are called rii (plural) and rio (singular) basically only by gondola. I have to say I love your approach to travelling, you are not rushing from one place to another trying to see as much as possible, instead you sit and let the scenery affects you, which is very Italian I must say. With this approach Italy is the perfect place for budget travelling because if you just deviate from the few most famous cities you have plenty of smaller cities with a lot to see for free or very little price, decent B&B, great food. You can enjoy the changing landscape and architecture from all eras. I know I sound parochialist, what can I say, I am just proud of my country and I find silly that most of tourists have such "fast" attitude . By the way, not sure it may interests you, there is a channel of an Italian couple, travelling on a budget like you, their videos are in English, and maybe some info might get useful to you too. If you wish check them out: "LeAw-Leave everything and wander"!
    I vote for their latest videos of my region "We Found Paradise" and "Unspoiled Tuscany Val d'Orcia" and "Cascate del Mulino Saturnia". Enjoy!

    Nothing beats a private gondola ride in autumn at sunset going under the bridge of sighs.
    A bit more pricey than your experience, but if you do a once or twice in a lifetime thing, you'd want it as memorable as possible.

    ottimo video. La descrizione dell'attività del gondoliere mi è molto piaciuta. In genere le persone si lamentano del costo di un giro in gondola. Tu ti sei informato e hai approfondito l'argomento e hai fornito delle informazioni sulle difficoltà necessarie per questo lavoro. A questo aggiungo che è sempre un lavoro difficile e impegnativo. Per il turista si tratta di una mezz'ora per loro è una giornata, e poi il giorno dopo, e ancora un'altro giorno...................... 🤢

    Great Video, I am wondering the recent news saying that people will need to get green pass to do all sorts activities in italy now. And, i am wondering how we can get it as foreigner?

    • @LisaAndJosh
      @LisaAndJosh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As of right now, that green pass is just for residents of the EU, and we haven't yet seen any evidence of anyone using it, or it being required anywhere.
      Very likely in the near future, uploading your COVID vaccination record to an app to travel around the EU will be required for some countries and restaurants for foreigners, but there's no official information yet. We'll make a video as soon as something is announced.
