    It is important also to remember that “Don’t Take Anything Personally” also applies to things that people say to or about you that might be characterized as “positive”. I am a person that loves praise, so I am happy to hear great things that people might want to say to me, but the same principles apply, as apply to negative things. Even things that people might praise you for are a reflection of the person saying them, and really don’t have much of anything to do with you. I think that the overall lesson is that we need to find ways to be centered and reliant only on ourselves for affirmation of our essential being, not dependent upon the whims of other people’s opinions.
