I teach at a primary school in the uk and have just intoduced the game to our Yr 5&6 children. They are really enjoying both the speed and movement of the game, and being non-contact, a lot of our less physical children are really beginning to shine. we are now trying to set up an inter school competition to develop the game further.

JESUS CHRIST died for you on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and is The LIVING GOD. In a prayer repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. Have faith in CHRIST. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you are new, and are born again. Turn away from all wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Praise only be to God. God Bless You. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK SOON.
This is a sport easy to understand and dynamic to practice and watch. Given the deserved divulgation and development it could become even a Summer Olympics sport. Neat video as well! :)

This is a great overview of the sport for a beginner. It is not accurate with the specific details of numerous rules described, but it is perfectly fine for someone who saw the sport and wants to get a little understanding of what is going on. As an aside, College Ultimate is not an NCAA sport, and it is played under the USA Ultimate rules. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
We are a school in Colombia S.A.Cali, and we need to have more of this videos showing and reminding us of the importans of the rules, because thats what makes Ultimate frisbee diffrent from othere sports. Great video Ninh! Just a few things. The part on fouls and infractions isn't quite right. Most fouls don't result in a change of possession. For example, a "pick" is when a defending player who is actively pursuing an offensive player is forced to run into any of the other players on the field. If this happens, the defender yells "pick," play stops, and he is allowed to catch up to the person he was defending. After this, play resumes. When a "travel" is called, the offending player only has to move back to where he would have been had he not travelled. A "double team" can only happen against the person who has the disk. If two defenders are within 10 ft of the person with the disk, and the second defender is not within 10 ft of a different offensive player, the person with the disk can call "double team." The second defender must then move more than 10 feet away, and the person counting the stall count must drop the count by 2. Play does not stop while this occurs, and only stops if the defender does not back up. Also, one of the more confusing parts of the sport is when a call is "contested." Being as ultimate is a self-officiated sport, there are a lot of times when opposing players don't agree with a call. When a call is made, the person who the call was made against can either contest the call, or agree with it. Let's say the disk is thrown to a player downfield, and both a defender and offensive players try to catch it. Neither of them do, and the offensive player feels that he has been fouled. If the defensive player agrees, play resumes like the offensive player caught the disk. If the defender contests the call, the two players talk about what happened, and the offensive player can either withdraw his call (which would result in a turnover, because the disk hit the ground) or he can stick with his original call. In this case, the disk would go back to whoever threw the disk, and play would resume like the throw never happened. Another facet that I won't get into now is the "observer," (the people in orange in the video). They have an interesting role in the game, as a sort of pseudo referee. They are only present at the highest level of competition and in select tournaments. It can be a bit confusing, but it's a great sport to play, and I love it. Let me know if you have any questions.
Fernando, you can be waiting in the endzone to score. In fact, you are not allowed to run into the endzone to score. Your first point of contact after catching the disk must be inside the endzone. If you happen to catch the disk outside the endzone, and your momentum carries you into the endzone, you simply step out of the endzone and keep playing. You can then make a throw to someone in the endzone to score.
Wow, I was planning on choosing this sport for my S.T.E.P. And now that I know how to play and how much fun it is. I am definitely going to choose Ultimate. Liked the vid as well! :D

Hey, this game was played at William Mason High School, in Mason Ohio, which is home of the Mason Comets. I know this because I have actually performed in Mid-States Band Association Marching Band performances, such as Mid-States Championships in 2015, and the Centerville Jazz Band, our marching band program, won in almost all of the Open Class awards and the were 1st place overall, in the Mason Invitational in 2016. Absolutely wonderful facility, and I advise you to visit it if you ever see an Ultimate Frisbee game here.
You're welcome Ninh Ly, just a band geek sharing information with the world, after preparing for the new band season after not even making Semi Finals last year at Bands of America Grand Nationals in Indianapolis. Regretfully, this year we are not even performing at Mason this year
My cousin plays this, he originally played football and basketball making his arm strong and the frisbee far to throw. Heck the other day we went to the park to play frisbee and he was trying to teach me the hammer throw (which you throw it down as if it was a hammer and do something cool with your fingers so then it would fly upwards!)
2:20 - well one school that we versed during ultimate season back in spring probably didn’t learn about spirit. They were very rude by making derogatory comments towards our teams performance, dishonesty by making false calls, unsportsmanlike conduct, etc. We even had a small physical fight between them. One girl shoved one of our teammates, she didn’t call the foul though, because she didn’t know what to do. Even worse, coach didn’t discipline them or do anything about it. In return, we gave them a 1/5 on spirit. (Basically a way to rate the teams spirit for the league to see.) We did NOT get along very well. The school was (and still is) infamous for their unsportsmanlike conduct in games, despite their phenomenal performances and winning a lot of championships.
I can imagine that a lot of teams 'win at all costs' - if they make a habit of breaking rules and winning and they're okay with it? Is it right? I'm not sure.
I'm going to try Ultimate for the first time today and thanks to your video I at least know the rules now to make it slightly less emberassing for me 🙂
A few things missing in this video. When you pot a red ball that is two points? When you're shooting for the Blue, Pink or Black and miss the ball is that four points, or 5 for the blue, 6 for the pink, and 7 for the black. You sink or scratch the cue ball. That is 4 points?
Way back 16 odd years ago, our school was apparently really good at ultimate, it meant that at lunch you'd have to dodge so many frisbees if you were playing anything else. aha.
Great to finally have a pretty clear instruction video to show beginners! Just a quick point - it may because I'm from the UK, or you looked at an outdated rule book, but some of these rules don't seem quite right (like the only taking one step, and having a substitution limit, and being allowed to sub during any stoppage of play) Obviously they are only tiny things which beginners don't need to worry about - as I said this video is great to show people the basics of how to play. Fernando Santana The blue team. The blue player never had possession, so he cannot lose possession.
