Long, complex story with lots and lots of great gags. Love the way Ub managed to get in some really good skeleton (almost his trademark) routines. Favorite scene was with the mermaid, but there were plenty of other good ones. Good score by Carl Stalling.
We are pirates of the deep blue sea! Yo ho dee hidey ho! Reckless devils, buccaneers, are we! Yo ho, dee hidey ho! STEALING treasures, EVERYWHERE! GOOOOOLD and silver, jewels, rare! Oh, we are pirates of the deep blue sea! Yo-ho de hidey ho!!!
OMG. I forgot about this. I had this on a VHS tape. When I first saw 1:57 I just pissed myself laughing. It's been 20 years since I last watch this and that part still makes me laugh.
I've just order an 8mm home movie silent version of "Sinbad the Sailor" on eBay yesterday along with the 2 more ComiColor cartoons from Castle Films and a rarity. I will be uploading it on my new channel "Castle Films" soon. I created my new channel last night and it's a good idea to upload stuff from Castle Films which I will be uploading on future videos.
the pirate captain himself is magnificent, he powers his ship on his breath alone, bullets bounce off his chest, and hurls a massive chest full of gold into that Roc's mouth. Gold he looted in abundance from SInbad's ship after he catches it by throwing his anchor at it.
I'm pretty sure that would be the famous Fleischer cartoon Popeye the Sailor Meets Sinbad the Sailor. It might have the distributor Paramount's logo on it, which is a long dismal story, but it was done by the Fleischers. It was notable in that it was a 2 reeler and made extensive use of the Fleischers multiplanar (well before Disney) technique. 2 similar 2 reelers were made one with Ali Baba and one with Aladdin. The 3 cartoons are among the best EVER made. I'm sure they are on YT
@Zoootex YES YES YES. me too. I NEED, i mean NEED to find this VHS, this shaped me as a child and are very scary to me today! Is anyone familiar with a tape like this? it was like 50 classic cartoons
6 months later, rewatching. Loved the pirate parrot, and the pirate smart flag.

Yes he's quite a guy. But the real hero of the piece is Carl Stalling, he outdid himself on this one's score.
1 pirate doesnt like it
3 Pirates don't like it!
