What is Mania mode ? Just booted this game on my RetroN 5, trying out some games, but I couldn’t put my hands down from this game, didn’t beat it and I’m looking troughs the TH-cam to see gameplays, I was playing normal mode but then found that there is a mania mode in this game , and the enemies seem more active which made the game fun for me, at first I wasn’t trying but after the enemies started juggling me, I had to see if I can improve in this mania mode, so just looking, the kangaroo 🦘 is the character that got me farther, using its long tail to keep ‘em at bay.
The original Bare Knuckle 3 doesn't have a Mania mode. The highest difficulty available in the game Very Hard. However, there is a mod hack called "Bare Knuckle 3 Project" which does have a Mania mode with faster enemies and all that. It also has some gameplay improvements from the original, I think. I recommend looking it up.
The game gives you a lot freedom and tools to deal with enemies and basically avoid taking any damage from them, but in Japanese BK3 their damage is very low and it stays the same on all difficulties, so when they do get a hit on you - there's absolutely no danger coming from it, cause it's pretty pathetic, given what you can do to counter that. Sor3 on the other hand, while makes the game pretty unplayable casually (which is why a lot of people dislike it), but it also makes it so now there is danger in letting enemies get a hit on you and there's a good reason utilize the mobility and freedom that you have at your disposal, thus it makes the game a lot more challenging and interesting to play and try to beat, as opposed to Japanese BK3 which is just absolutely hollow in comparision.
It depends on the platform and consoles you have. I suppose you can purchase the game on Steam, tho I'm not sure if Bare Knuckle 3 is in there. The easiest and free way to play is simple get an emulator and a rom.

Strangely, the Japanese version is not as hardcore as the US version.

Tbh, they made too much hard for nothing. I hate when they made a game almost impossible to beat. Plus they censored the best part of the game.
