    I've been getting a lot of questions about how long vinyl wrap on a motorcycle lasts. Today we reveal the truth about motorcycle vinyl wrap! Enjoy!
    If you’re new to the channel, WELCOME!
    I’m Adobo, and this is Adobo Moto! If you’ve ever had a Filipino friend...what am I even saying? Everyone has a Filipino friend! In our culture, it’s customary to feed every mouth that sets foot in our homes. Adobo is the national dish of the Philippines and Filipinos have a lot of love to give and we show our hospitality in the form of food! That’s where the name Adobo comes from and my passion for motorcycles (Moto) is my way of spreading the love. So thanks so much for sticking around and giving me a chance! And again, Welcome to the family!

    Great Video - I think it's important to know that vinyl has memory and on a bike where shapes require so much stretch, you need to heat the film after application to about 90 -100 degrees to erase memory in the material. Once you do this, it would not necessarily lift... HOWEVER bikes are notoriously hard to wrap, the shapes, the heat and general wear is off the charts and you did really well on your first wrap! On your next wrap (IF) post heat that film in any area's you stretched it and it will last years! Cheers

    The most important thing is you actually tried it instead of just sitting around talking about it. Turned out pretty good 👍👍

    Since vinyl wrap is so cheap, if you get a rip or something, you can just buy another piece or if you have some extra, pull the damaged piece off and re-wrap it.

    Fun fact, wrapping a naked bike is alot more simple. Lmao my 2021 mt03 even has plastic panels covering the gas tank, all removable, not hard shapes either.

    Maybe you can get some thin foam like material with a heat reflective side on one side and glue the foam on the inside to protect it from the heat...to me it would be worth it because you're not kidding about wrapping bike plastics.

    If you use name brand vinyl, apply it properly, and post apply it properly....for example Use a color that close to the bike so any imperfection are hidden well.... You have to take your time..it takes hours to do it right....you need to throughly clean it and let sit for 24hrs for any liquid to evaporate and apply in a controlled environment like inside your house not a garage....You also need to do correct post applications...you said it started lifting right away because if heat? Thats because you need to do heat cycles on the vinyl heat it to like 100+ degrees let sit then repeat a couple times this will not only let the adhesive to heat up and retract and really form to the bike but prevent hot weather or other means like the motor cause the vinyl to lift....and being OCD as hell with help with quality

    Had no idea a vinyl wrap vid would have snowboarding and beautiful winter mountains in it. I feel your pain with the shoulder rotating deal. Had to dodge a kid and sacrifice myself and my shoulder is almost back to normal 3 weeks later. SnowBasin was sick this weekend with some fresh Pow pow....what resort was that? Assuming Northern Cali somewhere.

    The imperfections, bubbling, lifting is not a result of “truth about motorcycle wraps”. Youre spreading false info. A professional install of a “quality” film will not have any of the issues stated. That belly pan could have been prevented using inlays instead of you heating and stretching into the recesses. Vvivids is one of the crappiest vinyls to use too. Try avery. Their matte finishes look just as good and are easier to apply. I hear you when you admit youre not a proffesional but dont spread false info as if this is going to happen anytime you get a bike wrapped. Full colorchanges on newer 600/750/1000 only require 4 yards of material.

    • @adobomoto
      @adobomoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      People come here for diy vinyl wrapping videos. This does happen to people that have come across my channel looking for advice. The point of the video was not to spread false info, it was to encourage beginners to take on the project of vinyl wrap and not let imperfections like these bother them or discourage them from trying. The truth about motorcycle vinyl wraps is that sometimes it’s just not perfect. I’ve used avery and love avery sw900. Look at my other videos of me wrapping my r1m with avery sw900 and it came out great. But again, the truth is, there are imperfections, and bubbling can happen. Professional wrappers don’t come to my channel looking for advice. Most of my audience consists of people looking to start a project and i don’t want to be the one who discourages anyone from trying. Of course if you’re “getting a bike wrapped from a pro,” this likely won’t happen. But the likely hood of this happening when attempting to wrap a bike yourself is very likely.
