I started watching because of your first review and loved it! I love the whole aesthetic of a bright post-apocalypse where plants and animals have taken over rather than a harsh desert wasteland.
The finale was so good!! My only gripe though is we never got to see Wolf get closure with Margot :/ it was rlly upsetting that we didn't get to see that get resolved...it just felt like what was the point of bringing Margot back in if nothing was going to come of it? Idk it was just kinda frustrating for me personally. But that was rlly my one issue
Scarlemange was my favourite character. I'm a bit disappointed about his ending, I would've probably preferred if he hadn't died. I would have really liked him to be in the 5 years later part. But I still really enjoyed the season and the show as a whole
My thoughts exactly! Especially the thing about mixing heartfelt moments and goofyness. This series somehow managed to stay goofy even during its saddest moments without it feeling like trying to relief the tension. It just felt like a natural part of this goofy world to stay goofy even in sadness.
My favorite thing about Kipo, the part that makes it a homerun for me, is that the theme of racism and inequality isn't completely relegated to the human vs non-human conflict. The mutes themselves struggle with their own biases, have dictator and people who encourage the racial tensions, and that before Kipo could even attempt to broach bringing humans and mutes together, she needed to resolve tensions between the mutes themselves
Absolutely wonderful video!!! It's so nice to see just a purely positive analysis of Kipo's last season. TH-cam keeps trying to recommend me salty reviews on Kipo's "weakest season" and I just don't have the stomach for that. Frankly I think the final one is the strongest of the three, and had me the most invested. It's only flaw for me was killing off Hugo (and tbh while watching that scene I was unsure he was actually dying at first, because, like.....really???? we're actually doing this?????? RIGHT AFTER YUM YUM???) Really sullied the joy I felt in the perfect redemption arc he was getting. Not to mention never really seeing him BE a family all together with Kipo, Song and Leo. But everything else was thankfully perfect. Literally every time Benson and Troy were on screen being boyfriends I'd start to legit tear up. Just thinking about young boys watching this show and seeing themselves in them made my heart so full and thankful this show exists and that they pulled no punches!!!!! I'm surprised you didn't mention the Dave and Benson backstory episode or "A Wolf in Wolf's Clothing" which I think were some of the best episodes of the series as a whole. But I understand if you wanted to keep the video down to a certain length. Let it be known though I could listen to you talk about the messages of Kipo for hours!😁
Yes exactly everything. When I recommend this show I describe it as the perfect blend of the epic quest plot of avatar, the emotional intelligence of steven universe, and the post-apocalyptic weirdness of adventure time.
I have a problem with shows that say their own name, but the moment when Kipo said that this could be “an age of wonderbeasts” I was so moved that I had to stop the show and cry for a moment. Never in my life has anything felt more real then that. The message of the show hits home in a lot of ways, and I can’t help but love it. And when Hugo died I was already a mess and then it somehow got worse. It is truly one of the best shows out there right now, and is something I will likely never forget.
I just hope no one forgets that Kipo couldn’t exist the way it does if Steven Universe hadn’t laid the groundwork first. It’s so easy to compare which shows handled topics of empathy, discrimination, redemption, representation, etc better but we should always remember that progress happens because progress happened before. Rebecca Sugar’s determination opened the path for She-Ra, both her and Noelle Stevenson’s determination opened the path for Kipo, and so on.
I love your media analysis videos! (I do miss your face tho) Kipo is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen honestly. This new wave of quality animation with so much diversity makes my lil queer heart so happy. I’m grateful that my niece gets to grow up with such a wide berth of representation available.
I was having a hard time trying to articulate why this show does a good job on tackling prejudices compared to other cartoons that have a racism theme going on. I was waiting for a video from you about Kipo after the 3rd season dropped. I have to thank you about making your first Kipo video because of that I got into it. And it's such a good series that needs more love and attention
💖💖💖 cant watch because i still have to finish and want to avoid spoilers BUT OMG I'M SO EXCITED YOU MADE A VIDEO ON THIS SHOW. I LOVE IT SO MUCHHHH 💖💖💖
Dave making up that long ass story about a hand fan to distract kipo and then him and Benson improving a Moral to it. I mean it could have been real but I think that reading of it is cooler. Wolf and Hugo/Scarlamagne teaming up to take out amy was natural for their characters and I thought it was great. The frog dudes redemption was super cool. How that big raccoon and one of amy's minions hit it off. Hugo playing Yum Yun's song on the piano. While, well...rip This list could go on. And on.
Ah finally! I've been waiting for this video :D I loved this show so much. I'm really sad it's over because I think this world could give so much more to us and I really wanna see more of the adult cast
I wasn’t actually the biggest fan of the first two seasons myself. I didn’t think they were bad, just ok. But the final season really surprised me and turned out to be quite excellent, to the point of making me enjoy the earlier seasons more.
Yum yum was the only moment that got me legit crying
I cried more then once, but that moment hit HARD.
Yumyan owns you all 😿
Mine was scarlamains death because scarlaimain / Hugo was the son of Leo and her mom and he died after he became so kind
Yum yum?!
I love how light hearted this show is while still giving important messages. You analysis captures everything I love about it.

You just posted this right after I finished the series haha

I watched this right after finishing She-Ra and man did it hit the same sweet spot! Love it!

there are no words for how much I adore this show. the use of symbolism throughout the entire series was incredible! i'm so sad it's over :'(
Incredible video! This is why I love Kipo so much
I love kipo so much

Since Wolf gets rid of her hood in the future, will people call her by....whatever her real name is?
I’ve already finished the series twice at least. Season two is my favorite of course, but I still love Season 3 even with the flaws, big and small.
WOOOW I’ve been looking forward to this video
I'm so glad I found the channel, very few create content on animation plot and writing.
Kipo is amazing. On a scale of Uncle Grandpa to Avatar the last airbender I rank it at least a Gravity Falls
Dave is always in the spotlight. Who doesn’t want that snarky friend who also doubles as the comic relief?
I wasn’t actually the biggest fan of the first two seasons myself. I didn’t think they were bad, just ok. But the final season really surprised me and turned out to be quite excellent, to the point of making me enjoy the earlier seasons more.
Are we gonna talk about adventure time obsidian!?
KIPO FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3.5 years later
😭😭😭 why did kilo have to end why can’t there be a season 4 😭😭😭
I just full on cried when Hugo died
I gotta wonder...
Was Troy gonna have a huge display of love to ask Benson to Prom?
So that’s the end
I cried so hard when scarlemenge died
Nice 🥺
hear me out, wolf = same vibes as toph (avatar), kipo = luz (owl house), glimmer (she ra), katara (avatar)
The only part that made me cry was when I realized scarlemainges flamingo Camero died
2nd place in my top tier shows
Yup.
engaygement
Me too
I watch this
Same
Hmufa!!!!!!!
