An old buddy of mine told me to use a series of sponges instead of sandpaper in order to achieve a good finish. This technique has several advantages. 1. Don't need to wait for the mud to completely dry. 2. Removes most of the dust from the project. The top or finishing coat is crucial to using the sponge finishing techniqu properly.. One applies the top coat and allows it to set up a certain period of time. Maybe just over lunch and upon return start way back at the first mud you've laid down. On smaller jobs the 20 minute "Hot Mud" can be used to literally finish "sand" a whole room in one day start to finish. Only you never used any paper. Just damp sponges. My friend told me, "If you use even one piece of sandpaper you're doing something wrong". Don't forget! "Practice makes perfect".
I like the other tools but the auto mud tape thing is probably something I will ever need. I'd rather struggle at my skill level until I am able to be proficient. Of course my vocation is not hanging and mudding drywall.
Im a diyer i do shit ton of dry wall 1895 house she fucked but anyways i found runingg my paper tape thre a pile of water works great n keeping my tools half ass wet i can work the mud super easy n add some water if u buy pre mix mud hope this helps somone out

Anyone try using the fiber fuse in the tape buddy??? But listen to this man he knows his stuff.
It works with fibafuse. I put a full roll through it.
@@antoineclaiborne3008 all that’s missing is a center crease. I’m at the end of my first roll and idt I’ll ever buy paper again.
Thank you!
