I swear to God, the saddest cartoon episode I've ever seen is the South Park episode Kenny Dies. That is tear-jerking! It's so sad to see their best friend dying at such a young age. The saddest part is when Stan goes to see Kenny at the hospital when he was already dead. And this happened. "Did he say anything before he went?" "He just said... Where's Stan?"

Yes, he does. But, that episode was different. Because it focused on how real it is. Like, the way the boys react to it in that episode is so realistic, that it will make anyone cry. Just watch the episode, then you'll understand. It's called "Kenny Dies"

I have a dog it’s my 2nd one. My first dog died because of a new type of cancer for dogs they don’t know about. I was about 8 and I came home from school and I looked around for him because he was usually at the door when we came in. I walked in and called for him. The next thing I know my mom comes downstairs and tells me he died of cancer and that he was taken to have research done on him so he could help out other dogs and possibly humans too. I was heartbroken. The whole week I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I was 8 then now I’m 13 and I still miss him. That episode of Futurama killed me and it makes me have flash backs. I’m sorry for saying this I just needed to let people know. I miss you Honsey and you were the best dog I have ever known ❤️.

I have not watched any of the cartoons. Ever. But the Futurama one actually made my feel sad af.
around 8 years ago I had a dog, a great one. But sadly I had no time to take care of it, not even my close relatives could. One day one of my aunts, who lives very VERY far away because my family is huge, was going back home from a job trip. Her route happened to be through our city, so she paid a visit, that day we gave my dog to her and she continued her trip. I've never seen him again, not even through pictures, not even his bark because my aunt does not use any modern tech. But she says he is still alive and happy. If I ever get the chance to visit him I'm sure he will not remember me, it's been so long. Writing this comment brought me to tears. The only picture I have of him is on a Nintento DSi XL I had back then, but when I was a kid I did not take pictures seriously, so for fun I distored it in a spiral using the built-in software. Sometimes I find my DSi around the house and I search for the pic, just to look a it. I tried reversing the effects by making a copy andtwisting it using the spiral tool going the opposite way, but the way it works... It only makes the copy look worse.

Adventure Time is more saddening when they made a full episode about Marceline and Simon.

That episode was sad BUT! Game of tones was the real sad one. You see what Fry left behind and the toll it took on his mom. The end where he goes to another dream and Nibbler shows and tells him it's his Mom's dream! I lost it!

Life of Brian really wasn't sad at all to be honest, hell, I was GLAD he died. for starters, we're supposed to be sad because they killed off a character that lost all likeability years ago? the whole sadness aspect of the episode is forced. they even kill what little shock may have come from watching him get run over with a unfunny gag with a squirrel kicking him in the face. then they immediately introduce another not very likeable character that is nothing more than an Italian stereotype. then they literally bring Brian back two episodes later and their Italian stereotype is completely forgotten about. Life of Brian was nothing more than a shitty ratings trap

Mother Simpson hit me the hardest out of all episodes on this list.
Being The Simpsons, you expect the episode to end on a light note or a joke. But when the credits started rolling with Homer sitting on the hood of his car, looking up silently and motionlessly at the stars, something inside me broke. It was such a severe character change for Homer. He didn't joke it off, he wasn't even crying. Just sat there thinking.
And don't even get me started on the music.

Jurrasic Bark is great, but they didn't depict it very well on here. The coverage of the episode misses pretty much the entire emotional arc.

For me, I thought it was just a lame trick, since the VO for Brian made Family Guy... so I didn't think Brian would get killed off regardless.

Family Guy, unlike many of the other shows like it, has very little character building or development at all. Even the Simpsons has more. The characters have a full range of emotions that are relatable. Things impact them greatly. When Mona died in the Simpsons it hurt. It made me think "What if my own mother died with such unresolved conflict." That was painful.
But when Brian died, it just felt like a gimmick. Family Guy characters are nothing but props to set up jokes. Stewie just happens to tear down his time machine in the episode (which is later rebuilt with no consequence). The writing practically feels like it's shoved in your face-- that it's *supposed* to feel sad, and not that it is. Maybe if this had happened in FG's earlier days when the characters felt like characters (hobbies, interests, etc) then it would have more weight. However nothing in Family Guy has consequence.

The Jurassic Park episode was based on a true story in Japan I think in the 1930s. A dog named Hachi, waited for his master at the train station for ten long years waiting for his master to come home. He boarded a train every morning to go work at a college where he was a professor. The man died at college and the dog sit at the train station ever since waiting for his master to return. There is a movie about it starring Richard Gere. It is called Hachi and is a must-watch for anyone who loved Jurassic Bark

The problem with choosing the last episode of season 2, which was a real tear jerker, is that season 3 shows that Rick was in control the entire time, sacrificed nothing, and only wanted to destroy the galactic federation. Not to mention ruining Jerry's life for the gall of talking bad about him to his family.
