    Hi DC Guy thanks for opening up one of these there isn't much info out there about whats on the inside. I've had the 12V 12Ah varient for a few months and they seem to be well made and don't heat up at all during fast charging at 20A and they make an excellent on the go battery. I'm tempted by their 12V 10Ah model especially if its using cylindrical cells. My PP cables spades don't work loose like they tend to do on the Eco Worthy 10Ah so workmanship seems excellent. Keep those vids coming I love the amount of detail you go into using simple clear language.

    Great job! I've been waiting to see what was in my battery. Bit of a surprise re the cells. Hopefully it'll do well in part two, fingers crossed! Lol

      Thanks for your support. Yes I wasn't expecting cylindrical cells either, didn't even cross my mind. I'm sure they will be fine, if tesla use them they can't be all bad. Cheers 🍻

      @@DCGUY My Ultramax has bluetooth, it would be interesting to know, if your battery BMS has unused connections for a BT module?

      Hi, thanks for the continued support. Its an interesting battery for sure. I'm trying to identify the cells and bms used to get an idea of cycle life etc. Will be doing the usual tests and will upload when its completed.

    I had one of these and charged with the supplied charger, and now it’s only showing 7.3V. It lasted just 7 days. With the charger connected it showed 14.4V but as soon as it’s disconnected it dropped to 7.3V - maybe I’m just unlucky!

      Did you make a warranty claim from the supplier? I'm not a fan of supplied chargers with these batteries but I'm wondering if the bms hit low voltage disconnect? You can usually wake the bms by connecting it to another battery or a better lifepo4 charger. Either way I'd be contacting the supplier for advice / replacement unit.

      @@DCGUY I have contacted them via ebay today and I have a Victron charger turning up from Amazon. The supplied charger does not look great!
      The problem is the battery shows 14.4V connected to the charger and then as soon as you remove its at 7.30V. I was thinking dead cells rather than the BMS as it sort of works?

    • @DCGUY
      @DCGUY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BlackCountryRacer Hopefully they come through for you. It's unlikely to be bad cells, chances are the BMS has either failed in some way or as I suspect its gone into low voltage disconnect. With the charger connected you will see voltage but the BMS is stopping the battery from taking a charge. The 7v you see is from one half of the battery if that makes sense. The other side isn't showing as the bms has disconnected for some reason, again usually due to low voltage protect. If you have another battery connect it positive to positive, negative to negative and leave for an hour or so. That may help wake the BMS. Either way I hope things get resolved for you.

      @@DCGUYThanks for the info. So far they answered a message and now radio silence!
      What confuses me is why would only half show if the BMS is shut down?
      I dont have another battery, but I do have the DC-DC output from the charger on the van so I could connect that up and let it see if it will activate the BMS. The Vicrton is here too but I'm at work now, typical!

    • @DCGUY
      @DCGUY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BlackCountryRacer your only seeing half voltage as only the negative side of the battery is coming via the BMS, the positive comes direct from the positive section of battery cells. Half the cells are the negative section, other half positive section. The BMS connects on the negative side of the cells then to the negative post on the battery. The BMS will stop current flowing from negative side only. Did the battery get over discharged when using? Keep on with the supplier and if it won't wake up when you try recharging be sure to raise a dispute as it's most likely a BMS issue. Best of luck 👍
