Nice result ! As an (old) beginner, I would love to sound like that. I am more of a tenor player, though, because when you don't sound good on the soprano, it's hard to bear. Not as much with a poorly played tenor, at least to my ears. @meredith, in case you read that. I assume you have realized that in the meantime, but the tenor has the same fingerings as the soprano. Aulos has an affordable, keyless tenor which is adapted to people with small hands. I am one of them (really small for a man), and I can play it. It is the Aulos 221A-E. Some of the holes are not perpendicular to the surface, making them closer to each other. It works.
I enjoy your videos so much. You are so funny and I also taught myself the recorder. Now, I take lessons with a college professor. Keep going. You are such an inspiration!
Nice music stand! I'm just starting as a VERY mature beginner with the recorder although I chose the Alto which to my ears still sounds really high having been a tenor horn player for 20 years. I would also like a tenor although I have very small hands and am decided if I really want to learn different fingering. Nice going, these seem like pretty tricky pieces for first grade!
Well I suspect your school should do the right thing and push you to perfection but as for me , I could enjoy listening to you on a country hill side all day. Keep working. You're doin good.
Haha, thank you. I’ve decided to aim for some sort of middle ground between the perfection my music teacher wants and my usual cruddy-ness. I’m all for a bit of crud to add some character..!
Thanks! Ugh, tell me about it, all these books add up! But keep an eye on eBay, used copies tend to crop up, sometimes for next to nothing! And watch out for offers on Amazon, etc. I don’t think I’ve paid full price for any of my books. Good luck with your playing 😊
@@ClaythorpeMusic well great use I just found the sheet music for this on muse score for FREE! I still want the book but this song is just so iconic! I’m gonna try my best to learn it. Wish me luck. 😆
@@doginabox9621 great!! Have fun learning it, I’m sure you’ll love it ☺️ If you go to imslp.org you can download the entire Fluyten Lust-hof (for free) but as a copy of the original manuscript. It’s tricky to read but interesting to see, and you could always copy out a piece so that it’s easier to read 👀

Thank you for saying so, I’m glad you enjoy the videos! I’ve just started having lessons too- hope it’s going well for you and happy playing!

So it appears all the cool kids play Daphne-I must get on board. Such a pretty tune. Well done!
So this is how it feels to be a cool kid 😂 It’s a lovely one, definitely give it a play!
Well done 😌

On the Alto it will sound lovely 💜
I like it on the tenor... the next mode is my fave but had to stick to the first one for grade 1 🤷♀️
Sounds pretty!
Thanks!
Hi could you tell me the notes for the intro, sorry I can't read music from sheets as I am learning to read as a beginner I'm more learn by ear
Your low c is always higher?
Ahh so cool! I’m also a beginner and am desperate to get my hands to get on the book but lack the funds. Cons of being a teen recorder player. 😭😔

@@ClaythorpeMusic omg. Thank you so much! I’m so excited but I’m busy with school band pieces right now. I’ll be sure to check it out in the holidays.
