@@freedomwillneverdie6600 So it appears you know one of the contributing factors of hydroplaning, but it seems you do not know the actual number behind that factor. 45MPH is all it takes to hydroplane a car, that is an on ramp to a divided highway which is safe to say contains a 65 or better speed limit which means you can't tell in that particular situation if they were going to fast since they would NEED to be being at least 50-55 IF the speed limit is 65 to safely merge into traffic. You should be doing no more than 10 under the posted speed limit when entering from an on ramp as that is the the expected speed to safely merge or slow down based on how traffic is already on that divided highway.
@@Jovarminator The speed limit only applies to dry and safe conditions... as soon as it rains, snows, is slippery or foggy, you have to adapt your speed to the conditions. Apparently a few smart people don't understand that!

#24 “No fault” is good for insurance company owners (or officers and directors) who want to buy their third yacht or fifth vacation home, but very bad for everyone else. This is an example of why you should never vote to become a “no fault” state - unless you benefit because you own an insurance company.
The "no-fault" is only a government insurance that will pay out for injuries regardless. He was still required to have 3rd party insurance for property damage and he could still sue.
Number 10: as a trucker I actually complain about truck drivers doing this all the time. When you stop on the side of the road aka the shoulder you are supposed to use the shoulder if available to get up to speed at least somewhat before merging onto the travel lanes again. Even if it looks somewhat clear and the guy coming up behind you in the right lane could move over if they are paying enough attention you still have to be careful. that is the whole point of getting up to speed before merging back on. This is what can happen when you do not do that and almost no drivers do this for some dumb fucking reason. They have zero problems using the shoulder to slow down but they can't use it to get back up to speed. I can absolutely guarantee you that if the police got involved, even if the driver in the travel lane was sitting there on his phone he would not be considered at fault because the one that caused the unnecessary problem aka the accident, it was entirely the fault of the guy who entered the travel lane while going 5 mph. For my fellow truckers that don't fully understand what the hell I just said yes you may not have been taught any of this while I'm driving school but most state laws say this and that includes four-wheelers as well as semis. When you are getting moving from the shoulder you must start getting up to speed while your 4 ways are on. They once you get to around 30-40 miles an hour if it's safe to do so you turn on your left signal and slowly get into the travel Lane. Once you are in the travel Lane turn off your left turn signal and make sure your four ways are still on until you get back up to speed that the highway is set to. Just because it "should be obvious" does not mean you have the right of way any point in time. You must yield to traffic already in the travel Lane as if you were getting onto the highway from an on-ramp. If you don't know the yielding laws about that you should not be a driver at all.
Wow. Thank you so much for this amazing selection of clips. Honestly the best I have ever seen. Huge respect to all the truckers that have to put up with total idiots on a daily basis.
Just a friendly word of advice to drivers out there. If your auto insurance limit on property damage coverage is at $100,000 or less, think about how much money you're still going to have to pay if you run one of these big rigs off the road and seriously damage it. Your company will write the check for the limit you carry and the trucking company's insurance carrier will come knocking on your door for the rest. If you own any equity at all that you want to protect, bump those liability limits up, folks. With the cost of everything going sky high, this could be a real trap if you don't address it BEFORE something like this happens!
For #18, in my opinion, I think it could've been avoided. Granted the van was at fault for doing a very last minute lane change but the trucker could've easily let him through.
10: Clearly you are a new driver. You began merging into the lane the second you started moving. You’re supposed to use the shoulder until you reach at least 40 mph. And, the shoulder in front of you was perfect for it.

Roll on highway, roll on along Roll on, Daddy, "til you get back home Roll on family, roll on crew Roll on, Mama, like I asked you to do And roll on, eighteen-wheeler, roll on ROLLL ONNNN !! 🚛🚛🚛🚛
Some things I want to share with you: 1. Always try to avoid being on the right side of a truck. 2. Even if the other one is at fault, that doesn't mean you are less stupid if you don't break. If you feel like a situation might become dangerous, avoid it by breaking slightly or changing lanes. 3. If you see an accident occurring, ALWAYS stop and make sure there is no more help needed. 4. Stay safe.
7:17. . THAT is the WORST place to sit if you are in a standard size car or SUV . . The driver of the truck in most cases cannot see you. . Accelerate and move in front of the truck (there was PLENTY of space in front) . .
@5:45-YOU NEED TO GET GOING ON THE SHOULDER WHILE REALLY CHECKING YOUR MIRRORS BEFORE MERGING INTO THE LANE!!! FFS, WHAT ARE THEY TEACHING IN DRIVING SCHOOL?!
well, i was taught the exact opposite of that guy... so i guess he was sleeping in class that day. there is also a reason they tell us to move over a lane when someone is stopped on the side so its partially on the other truck too, especially considering the length of time between when cammer jumped into the lane and when he got hit. but still like 90% cammers fault.
At 3:30 it seems fairly easy to see that coming and it was probably visible even earlier than we see in the clip. Yes it was the other driver's fault by changing lanes but slowing slightly or touching the brakes if the truck is on cruise control could have saved the trucker a nasty ride.
#10 I would suggest using as much of the shoulder as safely possible to get some momentum going before entering the travel lane again. You NEVER want to enter the highway at a snails pace when the traffic running 70mph+. Avoid stopping on the immediate shoulder whenever possible and just use an on-ramp to check directions etc. The shoulder is for emergencies only.
I liked how he tried to look for excuses and blame the other driver. How can you have a professional driver's license for a truck and having the opinion that you can pull onto the road from the hard shoulder? crazy!
also be sure to use your 4 ways, EricFortuneJR is right unless you have an emergency, like a blown steer, never park on the shoulder. most of the time whatever you are trying to do can wait until you are at an exit ramp. I been driving semi for nearly 7 years and haven't had a highway accident because i keep safety as my highest priority and I'm never in a hurry, when you rush you make mistake and that could lead to accident, take it slow. in the grand scheme of things rushing and speeding and playing lane hopping doesn't add any more time to your trip and that does is increase your likely hood of getting into an accident

These semi-truck crashes are a stark reminder of the dangers on our roads. Drive safely and responsibly to avoid such incidents. Stay vigilant out there!
At 3:14 the dumbass cammer needed to let the truck get around the hairpin. He can't just widen his turn through the guardrail. I live near a route where it's really windy with a lot of logging truck traffic, and you always stick to the white lines or cut the inside corners. You never know when you're going to meet with a chip truck or logger, and on tight corners and hairpins the trailer always comes at least over the doubles if not a foot into your lane. They're good drivers but they can't shrink the length of their trucks.
Yup, makes the comment it was tight roads yet doesn't seem to realize the other truck's trailer would be over the center line. He was probable dragging His trailer tires off the road on some of those curves like a Noob. Nasty road for Trucks.

Can't imagine how scared that car driver must have been knowing there was nothing they could do to prevent this wreck for so long. All you can do is do your best not to be on the right side of any truck at highway speeds surrounded by solid barriers in dense traffic, even when they can see you this clearly. This one's on the truck certainly but just thankful it wasn't tragic. ❤
What do we always say, you included, I'd bet, about passing semis on the right? Well, here is one end result of that. (The added commentary was probably how the driver actually reacted, surprised when he saw the car)
@@freedomwillneverdie6600 I hear you & agree on not passing semis on the right, absolutely, but we can't insist that's what was happening here, either. 5:55 And they will have cited you probably. Didn't use the shoulder to get up to speed. Just jumped straight into a live lane doing f*ck all mph. Well done.
3. There’s a reason why trucks aren’t alllowed in the far left lane on 3+ lane highways. If that truck was using the appropriate lanes that accident would never have happened.
#5 -- They need a bigger detour sign.. #28 -- A lot of people don't realize that, because of the unusual offset layout of that interchange, you can get back onto I-84 westbound if you follow the left lane onto I-205 south, then take the ramp from 205 back onto 84 about a half-mile south of the ramp's merge point. So, that white could have just stayed in that lane instead of threading the needle between two semis.
One thing you never want to do, is get yourself sandwiched between two or three big trucks going down the freeway at 65 mph. Nothing but bad things can happen if you hang out there for any length of time. If you need to pass them pass them and then get ahead of them, don't linger.
While the damage was the other driver's fault, how much time did the semi driver lose because of having to stop for the collision and the downtime to replace the mirror? Was it worth the couple of seconds that might have been saved by not slowing slightly to allow the other vehicle to merge?
@@tiredoldmechanic1791 I very highly doubt he seized that gap to “save time.” 😂 He’s probably sick of morons that wait until the last second to merge, block up traffic, and act entitled. All he did was close the gap. The Hertz driver forced himself in anyway. Y’all are delusional.

If you don't know the yielding laws about that you should not be a driver at all.
thanks for adding some truckers are guilty as well and not just blaming 4-wheeler drivers.

Wow. Thank you so much for this amazing selection of clips. Honestly the best I have ever seen. Huge respect to all the truckers that have to put up with total idiots on a daily basis.
In half of these clips, they ARE the idiots.
Unless the truck's own PD insurance doesnt cover the cost, youll probably be fine. Though, naturally, theres always a risk.

1. Always try to avoid being on the right side of a truck.

Avoid stopping on the immediate shoulder whenever possible and just use an on-ramp to check directions etc. The shoulder is for emergencies only.
