Giradox No one had a gun when he initially robbed them, and I don't recall seeing guns in the pit at any other time. It's possible that they don't carry them simply because the police show up often and without warning, and a gun is a charge they don't want to risk. Earlier in the season they were trying to get Omar on a gun charge, but he was too smart and predicted it and was clean when they went for him. He packs a LOT of heat, but he can risk it, because he comes and goes within minutes and is a lot less likely to get caught.
Another issue is that it effects business. Earlier in the show Dee said that they police come around for the bodies, not for the drugs. If they had shot Omar right then and there, that might have brought serious heat down on that location, an investigation, more police stakeouts. A death at the pit would take a serious toll on sales I would imagine. If someone killed Omar, the police would be looking for that person, and a murder charge is far beyond anything those guys would normally get stuck with on an average day. We saw this earlier in the season when they went and grabbed everyone, and that one cop got punched. They tried to threaten that one guy with five years if he didn't cooperate, he just laughed and said he'd take the five. You won't see anyone laughing off a life sentence, they'll talk to get a deal. That line was superbly delivered, giving me goosebumps from my first encounter. Definitely deserving an inter-mingle with some gripping action. But then we wont be considering the respect and fear omar has on the streets, and that no one would second guess about standing up to him.
What a brilliantly directed scene, Omar definitely had hood/streets respect, the way the little boy is running is so real in the urban core of America.
2021-09-06 - Terrible, sad news: Michael K. Williams, Star of ‘The Wire’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ Found Dead at 54. William's performance as "Omar" ("Omar comin'!) in The Wire is in my view one of the greatest performances in any TV series. May he rest in peace.

Just binged the Wire, and now I know it is deserving of all the praise. Omar is such a memorable character. Good writing, having "young un" Mike essentially becoming the next Omar.
The wire kinda like a part 2 for the show The Corner it has some of the same actors 2 Its more about the drug addicts than drug dealers

RIP BIG LEGEND. The streets will always remember your name. You are as infamous as Omar. 🙏🏽
Rest in Peace, uno de los mejores personajes en la historia de la televisión :(
Omar was my favorite character on the Wire! He really made the series, in my humble opinion. Peace.
Broke my heart when I heard he passed man such a great actor
"Omar you best roll out...we up in here with the mac 10"
oh i thinks not Terrell, i thinks not.
That line was superbly delivered, giving me goosebumps from my first encounter. Definitely deserving an inter-mingle with some gripping action. But then we wont be considering the respect and fear omar has on the streets, and that no one would second guess about standing up to him.
He called that bluff real
quick
What a brilliantly directed scene, Omar definitely had hood/streets respect, the way the little boy is running is so real in the urban core of America.

If Omar had air pods he’d be listening to some old school Triple Six Mafia.

Three Six was the peak of the rap game.

That's also what Omar's boyfriend says.
I cried when I heard Michael Williams died. Rest Easy, Beautiful ❤
Omar coming is a bit like when you’re enjoying the weekend and Monday decides to show up

R.I.P. Michael K. Williams (1966-2021) Thanks for portraying the role of Omar Little from The Wire. Your legacy still lives on forever.
Omar's coming! I hope God welcomed you into His kingdom with open arms and that everyone who's loved you who has transitioned was right there by His side when you crossed. We will miss you, Michael.
