Ah, the late 90s-a time when Peter Mandelson could secretly borrow £373,000 from a fellow minister, conveniently forget to tell his bank, and then feign shock when caught. This “loan” was more of a gentleman’s agreement-no interest, no repayment schedule, just a cosy arrangement between pals. While most of us struggle to remember our Netflix passwords, Peter somehow “forgot” to declare the loan entirely, sparking a media circus and culminating in his Shakespearean resignation. Naturally, the narrative quickly shifted from his financial misconduct to Peter’s “persecution” by the press. Mandelson’s first resignation was a masterclass in spin. With sympathetic TV appearances and a media playbook that turned “dodgy loan” into “tragic misunderstanding,” Peter emerged bruised but never broken. Critics cried foul, Parliament grumbled, but the media’s brief amnesia helped Mandelson cling to his reputation. The prince of political comebacks was back in Tony Blair’s cabinet within a year, proving that in politics, you can fall twice, but spin thrice. Another great video!
I worked in local government for a long time, when he and blair visited i got talking to some of the security, the things they said to me was shocking and not repeatable here.
Yeah the last video certainly sparked a lively comment section..After listening to your argument and being involved with the commentary,I'm definitely sticking with the progressive left. You can't have progressive policies without progressive politics and the old left and labour are clueles.Get woke or go broke pardon my appropriation
My argument would be that many values of the old left are good, and much of what the progressive left says is good. I'm a Hovis kinda guy, the best of both worlds.
@DrJoeLovelace Even Hovis can pass it sell by date..This working class you hope to mobilise, are they the ones who own more than one car in the driveways of their property, kids go to university and manage a holiday abroad every year but feel they suffer oppression because someone takes the piss out of their accent. The ones who feel the working class abandoned by the new left for the "poison" of identity politics and "multicultural blah blah blah"Because yeah we have forgotten you.A message to this working class You are not the oppressed anymore so get over yourselves the only oppression you suffer is that of your own minds .We the people you see on Benefit street living with black mould on the walls are not akin,WE are a disenfranchised underclass created by decades of untethered capitalism and you are not representative of us or our saviours. And I still feel privileged compared to the kids with mental health issues, addiction and in cases coming from homes where they have been sexually abused left homeless, begging in your town centres and sleeping in doorways. We don't care about your class struggle,we are busy with surviving daily
Great vid but you've got footage of Geoffrey Robertson K.C not Geoffrey Robinson ex M.P for Coventry N.W and fmr Paymaster General. Only mention this as your stuff is good and don't want critics to brand it as inaccurate.👍
Joking apart, Oxford is so strapped-down and ball-gagged by the dominatrix of corporate interests, that he would probably have been ideal. In recent history the Chancellorship was purely ceremonial (as with Rectorships etc in other universities) but if PM had won, I imagine he’d have been quite active in securing funding. You’d be amazed how much people will pay to get their monogram on a college building. At one stage a college (which I won’t reveal) considered auctioning its own name. PM would have thrived in that sort of environment! But congrats to William Hague, who is a clever and very nice chap.
" Who made him a lord ? The Sith! "

We don’t do spanner work… with that one phrase he betrayed so many workers
He has so many terrible quotes it's hard to pick them out 😂
@ proudly pointing to the mushy peas in a Hartlepool chippy and asking for the guacamole was priceless
So many rabbit holes with Petey, was just reading of his trip to pre-tourism Cuba in 1978
Great video I am no fan of Mandleson his dislike of Corbyn was unbelievable
*The rot of new labour* Well said.

I voted for Peter Mandelson in the Oxford Chancellor election, and I’d do it again, dammit!
Why... 😂
