Allan I'm in same boat as u job and trying to farm hard work the too prices the way the are if wonder is it worthwhile Ur land looks heavy Ur father a great help to u👍👍👍
Big Heston bales £55 ton in Nottinghamshire paying by the bale isn’t a fair way of doing it in my opinion because the amount of straw per bale can change so much depending on who’s baled it!
Alan Clyde oh hell aye but there is very folk doin hid noo as young folk don't want to get their hands dirty. My great uncle still does it and he makes 2200 a year give or tak
Nice Claas square baler, we sale our small bales for $12 AUS to horse owners but this year with drought we been feeding to sheep. These small bales have steel wire which mean these bales are nearly 50 years old but still look fresh been green, the hay stack was very tight. Funny X breed sheep tend to escape instead of our Merinos, I don’t know how many times I had to chase neighbour sheep.
Sam iam yes our hay stack is that old n I know there other hay stacks around district that are similar age. Our other small bale stack of hay is 15 years old because I baled with my brother there was 23,000 bales. We were told keep plenty hay for feed in a drought, which is third year straight here in Australia.
Got back from the Ploughing lunchtime, sheep broke out, then going wee square baling. I feel your pain 😂
It's never easy😂

Great stuff mr Clyde ! Keep them coming !! Is the baler needing much maintenance year on year or is it grease it up and get her going ?

Big Heston bales £55 ton in Nottinghamshire paying by the bale isn’t a fair way of doing it in my opinion because the amount of straw per bale can change so much depending on who’s baled it!
Think that's very true. Weighed and moisture tested is fairest way
