    Beautiful! And 100% agreed. For me, the most rewarded I've ever felt after doing something to one of my bikes, was that 1 person out of 50, that would stop, look puzzled for a bit and then say something like: "Hey, I didn't think these came with that option" kind of comment. Well done again, mate :)

    Just watched fender fabrication, and although working my way through all your videos having found you from looking for Triumph Bonneville upgrades for my 09 SE, I had to comment as thought this was great viewing and an excellent instructional video, and as always, wonderfully presented. Thank you teaching me soooooo much😊

    So many builds feature form but sacrifice function. Most definitely not yours. You improve the look and make the part stronger at the same time. I think carpenters call the cuts you made on the fender kerf cuts. Result looks factory just as you said. I can think of a few hundred ways I could have messed that up. 😁 One small observation.... the way you wiped off the mig welder when you were finished speaks volumes to this retired mechanic about the quality of your work. Many thanks Del and Miss Penny. God bless and stay well. ❤👍👍

      Hi Rick, thank you so much for your kind words and observations, I believe in taking care of my equipment, it's expensive and usually a one time investment, so with the right care, things can last a lifetime... an ethos I learned from my Grandfather when he passed tools down to me that he'd had for a lifetime... will do Del, not the 2022 i was expecting. the triple bypass in March was bad enough, but now my Gallbladder decides it wanted to kill me.
      Typically me it was so infected it had to be left in, but isolated as if it was removed and some time in 2023 i might have to have more surgery to remove what has been left in side.
      couple of blessings, i’ve survived two life threatening illnesses and got out on my VN900 classic after the bypass, so it’s a winner, winner chicken dinner for me.

      Actually, if all you want is 1/2" you can sometimes slot the holes that it mounts to and that will drop it a little bit, just use a round file and make sure you open them out equally, but just upwards and not front to back... remember to take the tea and custard creams with you!!

      Thanks for your kind sentiments mate, I don't always see the end result when I dive in, so yeah maybe, you do sometimes need to dive in blind and trust in the fact that a solution will evolve and each time you do this, and it does evolve, into a good result too, then that gives you the confidence to dive in when you may not have the final result in your head... all you need is the knowledge that it needs to be done and the enthusiasm to see it through!

    By the way, would it be a good idea to install an oil cooler?.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An oil cooler isn't really necessary in our climate, but of course in the hotter weather they're an easy retro fitment!

    Great video Del. Any plans to bob the front mud guard? I’ve seen a few that make a vertical line from the front of the wheel axle and another mark where it meets the fender. Then from the axle run a 45 degree angle toward the engine make a mark the fender. Obviously this is aesthetics over function due to the amount of material removed.
