  • With such good spring weather we set sail for some dinghy sailing with a stopover for a beach bbq!
This wasn't planned in advance but the nice sunny day and good wind made us just rush to the store to buy some beers, and then off we went aboard our Goat Island Skiff Forager once again looking for another great day.

This video has a light hearted, positive feel to it. The simplicity of a single sail dinghy and the joy in the company of a beautiful, sweet woman. It's March here in the North Atlantic states. I just bought a new sail for my old Sunfish, and this video makes me eager to go sailing on the Chesapeake bay.

We're going into winter down here in Australia and you up there in Europe are heading for your beautiful sailing weather. This is when it would be nice to have 2 boats like you have, the lively and quick to set up dinghy for the warm weather and the bigger boat, with a nice cabin etc for the cooler months. I see you took the lady out in the dinghy, which boat does she prefer, I know my wife would prefer the comfort and ease of the bigger boat, but that's probably got something to do with age hahaha, we get soft the older we get. The assador de chourizo is something we grow up with. We only cook chourizos on it because they are dried cured meat which can be eaten without cooking to begin with. It's just a lot more tasty if it's bbqued tho! We use 96% ethylic alcohol like the one you can get at the chemist/pharmacy, or if you can get a very strong drink with more than 50% you can use it too! We also use a very strong homemade spirit drink which we call "bagaço" or "agua ardente" (fire water) 😉

We do eat chorizo here, but more often in paella or similar.
I also think I should add Portugal to our bucket list. My beautiful (2nd) wife was a cat sailor as a teenager, but hadn't been on a boat much since her late 20s. Several days bouncing up and down in the one locaton off the Gold Coast with the diesel motor runnign day and night and the whole crew down below cured her of sailing desires, until recently. We've chartered a couple of cats over the past two years (where we were the only ones on board with any experience). Just finished one of those charters off Fraser Island for a week.
I do think Linda would love it. And I can practise my terrible Portuguese and improveit with mateus, or beer. lol
