Bloss have been making 1kg and 1,2kg feders for years, and they often in stock for a decent price. Real good stuff.
I love them.
Martin Fabian was at the Gathering with two lightys.
Its like Smallsword but with two hands. I love it especially if you are sore :D
@@ochs-hema they are fun and I like them, but I still prefer a 1.4 to 1.6 kilos range!
I have a SIGI Feder on the way and really looking forward to it; I'll probably get a SIGI light at a later time as well.
Unfortunately the price tag is still heavily inaccessible for myself and the majority of children I know (in that their parents would never pay £350 for a single practice tool for a hobby). Maybe others are lucky enough to have this privilege, but I could not even get my parents to let me learn MOA fencing or Kendo as a child, even though there were schools near me when I was young.
If a company with budget options starts making these, I think they'd be lovely for teaching teens and kids. For now, only a teacher or privileged person could justify the purchase of a pair, in my opinion.
I think we will need to consider cost concerns for accessibility if HEMA is every going to expand into an after-school program. Or just start all the kids with foam swords (which obviously loses a lot for techniques) or smallwords and rapiers, which are also, unfortunately, very expensive still.
@@MasoTrumoi I completely agree with you. I didn’t touched the argument because I forgot, but yes the only problem to the process I mentioned is unluckily the price.
@@FedericoMalagutti I don't think it was your responsibility to touch on this aspect of it, to be clear. But I do think that these would be lovely to have. There is a company near me in Canada that makes very basic arming swords and sabres for as little as $140 (£70) per sword and they make a good and useful product, they're just not pretty to look at.
If a company like that was making these, we could probably use them for programs with children and people less able to use the full weight swords.
@@MasoTrumoiMay I ask what company?
Kids do good with a shinai, it s cheap lighter and makes no damage. A sword must be earned 😂
@@MasoTrumoi Please let me know which company this is!
Have you tried the Sigi arming sword light?
@@EconaelGaming no I don’t
@MarekHelman You got a way better lighter feder and youth feders going on also on Bloss Armoury right?
@@417hemaspringfieldmo they already pointed me toward it, I’ll check it out when possible ;-)
I get what you're saying, but personally I don't want to see Hema go the way of regular sport fencing even more than it has.
