You really caught my attention about hypochlorus acid now, which is funny because I mainly watch you for entertainment as we’ve got completely opposite skin needs in most cases. Excited to try this and see how it works on my dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin!
I just stopped using the Medicube collagen jelly and triple erasing cream today too. I loved how it made my skin feel plump and dewy, but I noticed after a couple weeks of consistent use I started getting some nasty breakouts. As soon as I stopped and went back to using my Skin1004 and Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum my skin was instantly happy again. I think the Centella and Propolis really came clutch super quick.
I just ordered the Prequel Dermal Spray! I love the Klairs toner and I have a hard time choosing between it and the Make Prem toner. I am using Dermatica's azelaic acid and finding it effective. You're on the money with these recs, James!
The Tower28 products really help my eczema flare-ups. I am going to try the Prequel next. I absolutely love their Gleanser. I also thought the Prequel moisturizer would be too heavy for my face, but it really isn't. I never feel too oily with it.
Never been this early, probably never will again, Hi James from New Zealand! Me and my Mum love watching you and your brother, you guys remind us of home
Clinisoothe makes the same Hyploclorus acid toner/liquid and is available in the UK :) I have moderate rosacea and it really helps with redness and healing breakouts

Bleach baths have been a staple in eczema treatment for decades. It was first used in WWI(?) on the battlefield for wound care, called Dakins solution. It's diluted bleach with a buffer of boric acid. A scientific study found that daily use had anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and soothing properties on induced dermatological yucks in rats. I've been using it for years. It's also good for acne.
Oh, I live in the UK too and being dying to try the Prequel gleanser and the Experiment Super Saturated serum. Thanks for recommending an option and let me know if you wanna share the next Shipito order 😀

Omg I wish something similar would work for my dermatitis. I can hardly use any products on my face now, not even talking about exfoliants or stronger actives :(
So happy i found this 🤗I've just been diagnosed with rosacea. Ive been using metronidazole cream for 2 weeks & my skin is sooo dry😭 im not sure i want to continue using it. Ive also been putting rosehip oil on top the last few days from Holland and barretts hoping it repair my skin barrier ❤
Thank you James for this video it came at the right time. The past 2 months I’ve been severely stressing and I’ve been in survival mode/fight or flight. And my body is not used to this amount of stress nor is anyone’s, and last week I managed to heal and not be in such survival mode and then suddenly I’ve triggered some type of rosacea/psoriasis/ Pityriasis rosea and because it’s fresh the doctors can’t determine yet which I have and I need to wait it out to see what my skin does. So I will be adding these products to my cart as soon as I can to help heal my skin. It’s been said the stress I’ve put my body through the skin has a major connection.
The prequel product is interesting. When people have really bad eczema (me), they may get treated with a bleach bath. (Bleach is extremely diluted.) But it works super well. Skin feels clean and less irritated, but it can feel more dry, so medication and moisturization is needed afterwards. I wonder if this is a similar idea.
I'm 29 and have been suffering for the last year or so with some of the worst acne of my life. I, like many others was mislead into believing acne is synonymous with oily skin. Tried everything for oily skin and it only got worse. A little more research made me realise I likely had a damaged skin barrier. Started on weleda skin food for dry/very dry skin. My old broken skin and acne is healing extrenely fast and my new blemishes ate much easier to manage snd significantly less. I'd love to try something like the milk serum but I'm on a tight budget. The skin food does have some fragrance in it so avoid if you have sensitive skin.
this just happend to me yesterday. I had such a bad reaction to the anua pore cleansing oil. I checked after and saw that perfume is relatively high in the ingredients list. I suspect that and another toner with some essential oils in it. Now trying to fix my skin and feel awful since yesterday. What I recommend and is also great for me is the Krave Body Barrier Lotion. I also have the serum but the cream is a big tube and works wonderfully for me. Unless you are allergic to Tamanu oil be careful.
Just FYI in case no one was aware to check your product lot numbers on the Prequel Barrier Therapy - they issued a recall on certain ones this year and you can see the lot numbers affected by clicking on the link thats posted.
The L'Oréal Revitalift Clinical 12% Pure Vitamin C Brightening Serum, caused a nasty reaction on my skin. It looked almost like chemical burns on my face, I used to use vitamin c and salicylic acid on my face all the time and had no issues. After using this serum I’ve had really bad reactions even from different products containing those ingredients, so I had no choice but to cut those out my skincare routine and all is well now.

Im going to have to try some of these things for my rosacea! May i ask, what kinds of foods usually trigger your rosacea? Spicy foods I know for sure. Possibly caffeine? I sometimes wonder about dairy, but so addicted to it, dont want to stop!
@JamesWelsh I've been in denial about the dairy 😕 😪 I didn't know fibre could be a trigger for rosacea...I have ibs also, so I'll need to play around with things. thank you!
Thanks for the video! I used the Tula concealer and everywhere that I put it on my face caused my skin to get irritated, red in some places, and dry. I had to stop wearing makeup so that I could heal my skin!😢 Can you do a review on their skin care products. I used their tinted sunscreen and didn't have this reaction. It was fine. 😢 Thanks for the video!
what is the tinted sunscreen you usually use? I really need to know. I have rosacea too very similar to yours and in some of your previous videos you mentioned you were wearing a tinted sunscreen and i was in awe of how perfect your skin looked.
For anyone in Germany or EU, i found a hypochlorous acid spray from the brand highdroxy called the SOS Spray with the same percentage of acid as the prequel spray
Could you review the numbuzin products? There’s a lot of hype about their products on tiktok and ended up buying the number 6 deep sleep mask serum cause people kept saying it was the key to glass skin. But it felt like any other hydrating serum😅
Hi J❤ Are you using the tocobo vita glazed lip mask even now? My lips are so dry even after using laneige mask .It seems laneige is making more dry . Is the tocobo one worth trying?❤
Im so confused about who & what to use! There's so many brands and specialties that i don't know if im doing the correct routine! Normal skin with mild hyperpigmantation! Need suggestions! Thank you 😊
People don’t talk enough about the klairs supple preparation toner. It’s the only toner I’ve used that doesn’t make my sensitive skin freak out, and gives an enough amount of hydration for my needs. I’ve tried other toners, and it wasn’t the same, it wasn’t enough, and I recently tried the skin1004 one and it messed up with my skin barrier, to the point it was so itchy, stingy, and slight bumps of inflammation would appear T-T. I use the original scented one, because my skin tolerates it well, surprisingly. I used to have acne prone skin with a patch of eczema under my eye, and this toner is one of the reasons I don’t struggle with any of that anymore (besides other things)
Well, I unfortunately have experienced skin irritation countless times as I suffer from adult acne and sometimes I get desperate, which ends in horrible irritation. I can tell you one thing: I now only use a normal moisturizer when it happens and my skin goes back to normal in less than a week. I once used super duper skincare to fix irritation and it worked worse. Conclusions: your skin will repair itself without any fancy products. The simpler, the better! By the way: IPL light is amazing for rosacea.
James, how many times a day do you use Azelaic Acid (if you still use it)? I think Azelaic might be damaging my skin barrier, I use it twice a day but its one of the only things that are effective at getting rid of my acne : (
Not using actives will quickly heal the skin barrier. Mild cleanser and a good mild moisturizer and occlusive such as Vaseline.
Yesss no actives for me!

@@sarahp4420 Same! Same experience for me!! It broke my face out but was incredible when I used it on my body after showers before fully drying off providing so much hydration leaving a slight sheen but not greasy feeling at all. But again diff things do diff things to diff ppl😊
Did you had to deal with redness due to the irritation ?
It’s been 5 weeks now that my cheeks are red due to an irritation caused by a moisturizer. I’ve also made it much worse by plucking hairs on my already irritated skin. It doesn’t heal 5 weeks in and I’m losing hope 😔
@@Dan24. try using La Rosche Posay triple repair lipikar moisturizer or a pricier solution would be the Bloomeffects Royal Tulip Nectar🌷 which is like a jelly consistency but will soothe & repair ANY & EVERY kind of irritated or damaged skin barrier (whn everything that touches the face stings!) Kbeauty also has countless to choose from & all are top notch; one of which is the Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream & it's incredibly gentle! I've also been suggested diaper rash ointments but haven't personally ever tried em.. lol
Wishing you the best of luck!!!!
@@misshell2223 Thank you!! I’ve already heard of products from LRP and consider using them but for now I have strongly damaged skin and I’m afraid that if I use something it will get worse so I will wait a little bit. Even the mild moisturizer that the dermatologist prescribed me seems to burn my skin and make the redness worse.
Really hope we'll be able to get prequel in the UK soon!! This was a really helpful video thanks James 🧡
I’ve had no problems using the prequel spray and vit c in the same routine! Like you said, I use it first on dry skin, let it dry, then toner, and apply vit c serum (current,y using the prequel one also) and moisturize, sunscreen. No issues! Been doing it for over a month, since their serum launched 😊
I’m going through tretinoin purge rn and my skin is peeling like crazyyy
So this is perfect timing 😍
I tried Beekman 1802 because of you! I am in love! Thank you!!!!!
Aveeno calm + restore range is pretty good, its helped my skin barrier so much ❤ great vid as always ❤❤❤❤
Hey James! I love your perspective on life and your opinion based video essays are some of my favorites to watch! I was super curious if you ever considered completing a color analysis for one of your next videos! I would love to see your opinions on the newly viral process of "finding your best colors to wear". -All love❤
You really caught my attention about hypochlorus acid now, which is funny because I mainly watch you for entertainment as we’ve got completely opposite skin needs in most cases. Excited to try this and see how it works on my dry, sensitive, eczema prone skin!
So glad you’re talking about Prequel. I just bought several products for my husband who has terrible eczema. Too soon to know if it’s helping
Did it help him ?
I just stopped using the Medicube collagen jelly and triple erasing cream today too. I loved how it made my skin feel plump and dewy, but I noticed after a couple weeks of consistent use I started getting some nasty breakouts. As soon as I stopped and went back to using my Skin1004 and Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum my skin was instantly happy again. I think the Centella and Propolis really came clutch super quick.
I love the Beekman 1802 serum they have a milk foam calming bubble mask I really love too
I just bought their potato mask!! I didn’t see that bubble mask! Sounds nice
@@JamesWelsh ooh! I will have to try that! Is it itchy? I think because of potato I think that lol
The BIG tube of cream from Klairs (supple all over lotion) is excellent too, for face and body !
I use the Optase Hypochlorous! Its brilliant! Fine spray and only £9.95
I just ordered the Prequel Dermal Spray! I love the Klairs toner and I have a hard time choosing between it and the Make Prem toner. I am using Dermatica's azelaic acid and finding it effective. You're on the money with these recs, James!
DEFINITELY going to purchase a few Prequel items!
I'm definitely going to try that Prequel spray when I can afford it, I've been wrestling with a rash on my chin for over a year now!!
The Tower28 products really help my eczema flare-ups. I am going to try the Prequel next. I absolutely love their Gleanser. I also thought the Prequel moisturizer would be too heavy for my face, but it really isn't. I never feel too oily with it.
i have just started dermatica because of you! thank you!
Same! I'm only 3 weeks in though. I'm really impatient so trying really hard to give it a proper try. Not seen any progress yet...
Ohhh keep me updated!
@@Debbeh good luck! I just ordered. I haven't really tried anything else but I'm optimistic.
Never been this early, probably never will again, Hi James from New Zealand! Me and my Mum love watching you and your brother, you guys remind us of home
I really need to start using that shipping service so I can get my hands on Prequel!
Clinisoothe makes the same Hyploclorus acid toner/liquid and is available in the UK :) I have moderate rosacea and it really helps with redness and healing breakouts
Thanks.👍
Definitely trying some of these! Going through something similar after trying Vitamin C for the first time, idk what happened but it badly triggered my lip dermatitis :/ Your CosRX recommendations are really helping me ❤
thank you! i do my due diligence with patch tests, but my skin sometimes gets irritated by products i've been using anyway bc my immune system just flips out sometimes and recovery can be long and stressful.
That Beekman serum also has CoQ10!. I love it!
Ugh I just love you James ❤
Klairs toner is like drinking a big cool glass of water and jumping into a fresh pool of water on a hot day. It feels amazing
Not super on topic for this video, but between you and Johhny Ross/Kevin talking about it, I took their quiz and bought everything they recommended and hopefully soon will have a package from Glow Recipe. Trying really hard to get back into skin care and then need to start addressing other problems I've been ignoring. Fighting the depression and anxiety monsters are frikken hard. 🤦🏻♀️
Keep fighting for yourself! You've got this! ❤
JAMESSSSSSSSS. PLEASE HELP WITH BLIND PIMPLES! need a detailed video on it please please
I needed this as I am currently fixing my skin barrier
The prequel product is interesting. When people have really bad eczema (me), they may get treated with a bleach bath. (Bleach is extremely diluted.) But it works super well. Skin feels clean and less irritated, but it can feel more dry, so medication and moisturization is needed afterwards. I wonder if this is a similar idea.
i discovered a new brand a few weeks ago, it helped so much with my barrier. its Q+A zinc moisturiser , CHEAP AND GOOD ❤️
I started using this a couple of years ago, the green tea toner is also amazing
@@claireellenweldon8828 i bought the face oil and vit c eyecream as well, totally love it ❤️
Your hair looks great! ❤❤❤
Prequel has a great reputation.
James did you see this in the news in Australia - The title is - Skincare brand made up chemical ingredient to promote anti-aging product | A Current Affair (As i Can't put a link would love your thoughts) x Love your videos!
Please review more of Beekman. They have a Oh Mega Milk fermented serum oil which is amazing!
Thank you so much. The products look so dewy and nice.
I really wish we could get Prequel over in the UK :(
Seconded
prequel need to ship to the UK now 😭
Im going to have to try some of these things for my rosacea! May i ask, what kinds of foods usually trigger your rosacea? Spicy foods I know for sure. Possibly caffeine? I sometimes wonder about dairy, but so addicted to it, dont want to stop!
Alcohol, dairy anything spicy and then anything with too much fibre!
@JamesWelsh I've been in denial about the dairy 😕 😪 I didn't know fibre could be a trigger for rosacea...I have ibs also, so I'll need to play around with things. thank you!
WOW! These product really helped repair your skin barrier! Looks like they helped grow your eyebrow hairs over a week too!! 🤔
James clinisoothe is a British brand and it's a hypochlorous acid spray. easily available :)
Your content has always been so enjoyable and informative. 😍
Love your hair James.❤❤❤
I use Vaseline, very effective
I use Stratia liquid gold and Illiyoon ceramide moisturizer when my skin is upset
You had me at goat milk. I love LOVE goat milk as a body moisturizing ingredient. Hopefully it works the same on the face!
Thank you for doing this! I’m checking out beekman right now 💜
Have you tried clinisoothe? I get it every month on order from the UK and it has totally changed my skin. Think it’s the same as the one you use.❤
I’m curious what your thoughts are on the new inkey list bio active moisturiser? 😬
“Smells like swimming pool” Lol I enjoy your rhetoric ❤
Your hair looks so beautiful 😍 come on Clark Kent!
Hi J❤
Are you using the tocobo vita glazed lip mask even now? My lips are so dry even after using laneige mask .It seems laneige is making more dry .
Is the tocobo one worth trying?❤
Damn, look at that hair…. Fabulous❤
Beekman is wonderful !
Im so confused about who & what to use! There's so many brands and specialties that i don't know if im doing the correct routine! Normal skin with mild hyperpigmantation! Need suggestions! Thank you 😊
Hey❤ could you find dupes for the prequel products that we can get in uk?
Love all Beekman products ❤
James, is it possible to overhydrate the skin? Thank you for your video, my rosacea has been kicking my *ss in the last few days.
I feel like I need to run out and try all of these now.
Hello. Good Afternoon James 💜 Happy Thursday 💜💜
So where is James getting the prequel products?
Oh thank god you’re here x
James, how many times a day do you use Azelaic Acid (if you still use it)? I think Azelaic might be damaging my skin barrier, I use it twice a day but its one of the only things that are effective at getting rid of my acne : (
