Can I just tell you guys, I have binged your videos the past few weekends and found a new favorite comfort channel…. My husband and I adore you both and cannot wait for more videos! Your content, energy, big personalities and editing are fantastic and you two are a joy to watch! ♥️ Now I want tacos!!!
Awe thank you for the kind words ❤️- We have a lot more coming every week and will be back in Vegas this month to film more so we are so glad to hear that you have been loving the episodes. And I always want tacos 🌮 - Filming this episode was one of my favorites just because I can never be unhappy when enjoying Tacos 🌮 - The world needs Taco shops on every corner so you should totally get some tacos and treat yourself ❤️ -Paul
Another great video. Trying a variety of meats was super helpful, since that’s what sets a taqueria apart. That’s the best description of cabeza I’ve heard (also my fave).
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video. Our go to’s when at home in Phoenix are usually Cabeza and Tripas (and Chicharrón rojo if it’s available) - I am a firm believer that when it comes to food, “just try it” and that has never steered me wrong. Glad to know you also love Cabeza - It’s so so good ❤️ -Paul
someone's hit 1k followers, congrats guys!!!! Tacos El Gordo is my go to, i'm obsessed with their Lengua tacos and after watching this a stop at my fave location (Sunset/Vegas Blvd) is on the agenda for later this week!
Thank you for the kind words and also, I can imagine that the other location for Tacos El Gordo south of town is much less hectic than the one on the strip ❤️ Lengua Tacos are also one of my favorites (after Cabeza) - both just melt in your mouth and are so tender. -Paul
Thank you so much! We’re glad you enjoyed this episode. We’ve got lots more Vegas stuff coming up nearly every week. We will be sprinkling in a couple Southern California videos soon but that will be sporadic . Vegas will likely always remain our primary focus. There’s just so much to see and do! -James
Such a great video and i'm so glad i found you guys! I 100% appreciate this review, and in my heart of hearts, I was rooting for Tacos el Gordo 😃. From this video, I can tell that you guys know what you're talking about 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for watching and for leaving such a kind comment! That means so much to us. We’re so glad you enjoyed the video. Honestly, we loved both El Gordo and El Pastor almost equally (it was a tough choice) and would definitely visit either again. -James
It was great to find your channel! We've been reviewing restaurants across the country and can totally relate to your couples' banter ❤ We just settled in Vegas and are enjoying the options for dining and entertainment
Hot tip for first-timers: Both places are known for the adobada. Whatever variety of tacos you planned to get, just get that many of the adobada. Though at El Gordo, my second place is one you didn't get, the Azteca... carne asada and nopales. Maybe get one Azteca and then fill the rest of the plate with adobada.
I’ve eaten at that exact spot and loved it. The staff was awesome. Tacos el gordo Loved it. I can’t believed you liked tripas. To each his own tho lol. 😝 never been to tacos Al pastor so excited to see your thoughts there. I’m glad you pointed out the extra seasonings. I’m gonna have to check it out since I’ve already tried out el gordos. Ty for always the informative videos.
Tacos El Gordo is definitely great! Reminded me of bustling taquerias in Mexico. We really enjoyed El Pastor as it was a little less hectic, but we would absolutely go back to either spot! As always, thank you so much for watching and the lovely comment. -James
Paul, you're so like my guy! (Yes a guy this time 😮) he finishes off every bite I don't take and I find it super attractive. Keep being you two. You fit 😊
Awe thank you - Yes… I am usually big on finishing everything on the plate and for the sake of the video we both had to share the tacos so I was definitely the “finisher” 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching and we are so glad you enjoyed ❤️ -Paul
I’m sorry to hear that! Perhaps it may have been an off day, but food can also be the most subjective topic on the planet. What might be delicious to us, may not be for others. I’d say give Tacos El Gordo a shot if you haven’t already. -James
Tacos el gordo are better way better, the only reason i went to tacos el pastor cuz i got confused thinking it was tacos el gordo, because that is where tacos el gordo use to be, and they moved right next door, and i bet that is the only reason they get that much buisness, cuz people think that is still tacos el gordo, their ok but el gordo kicks ass
I can see why people do love El Gordo. Those tacos were delicious. While I did slightly favor Tacos El Pastor, that’s just my opinion and I know that others may favor El Gordo over the other. If I had my way I would get a few from both places and just eat my weight in tacos 😂. Thanks for watching. -Paul
SORRY BUT THESE TACOS ARE NOT THE BEST IN VEGAS, YOU HAVE TO GO AROUND, AND YOU'LL FIND SO MUCH BETTER TACOS THAN THESE. EVERYBODY SAID THAT THESE ARE THE BEST JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE LOCATED AT VEGAS BLVD.
Do you have any local recommendations? We love our local Taco shops in Phoenix but if Vegas is anything similar to how it is here, then the really good places are probably off the beaten path and off strip. Because we center a lot of our content along the strip, we decided to try both El Gordo and El Pastor for the sake of this video. But I LOVE Tacos, so if you have suggestions I will be happy to look into those places for future content. -Paul
@JamesandPaulTryitAll THE NUMBER ONE IS TACO AND TACO LOCATED AT EASTERN AND SERENE, YOU MUST TRY BUCHE TACO. ALSO, THERE IS A PLACE THE NAME IS CONDE, IS LOCATED AT BUFFALO AND WASHINGTON YOU MUST TRY THE CHILAQUILES TACO WITH ASADA AND THE PASTOR WITH PINAPLE. THOSE WILL MAKE YOU TEARS..
I enjoyed the Las Vegas location. Found it to be very comparable to a lot of Taquerias in our hometown of Phoenix. I would say they were just as real as any I’ve eaten in Mexico as well. But now you have me curious. When I’m next in San Diego, I’ll have to see if there’s a difference. -James
One thing that I’ve learned in my years of studying and preparing food in professional and casual settings is that location means nothing in regard to authenticity. Instead, it’s about the craft and quality of the dish. (Though I’m pretty sure that Tacos El Gordo did come from Tijuana) That being said, I also couldn’t find anything confirming that Tijuana is the birthplace of the taco. It seems that there’s a decent amount of evidence to support that they were originally found in and near Mexico City, as it is also widely believed to be where the term originated. Some argue that it was brought over by Spanish conquistadors, but it seems much more likely that it was instead a dish created in Mexico. That being said, there is strong evidence to support that Mexican Migrants brought tacos into the US in the early 1900’s from Tijuana and other border locations. Especially those near mining work. What’s your favorite taco place in San Diego? -James
@@michael82178 no worries at all! Food history is complex and fascinating, in addition to often being shrouded in mystery. I had the privilege to spend a lot of time in Mexico when growing up, and have eaten tacos of all different types in many different regions. While similar… they all have their unique attributes about them. -James
