The Isuzu 1.7TD is a very good engine. My mate had a Vectra with the same engine and kept it going.

Was it slow but reliable? Only 75bhp weren't they non turbo wasn't it just 60bhp?

@@jackmilne9764 It had 82 bhp and was fairly quick. The non turbo version was never fitted to Vectra's.

Mines a vectra c 2006 1.9cdti 16v 150bhp now. Spose back then cars weighed a lot less than now no air bags, abs, heavy seats, etc small things but probably made a difference plus used more fuel I guess. I could be right or chatting shit, my theory anyway haha

@@jackmilne9764 You're not chatting shit cars didn't weigh as much back then. My mk2 Clio RSI 1.6 16V 110BHP only weighed 985kg and that went like a rocket. My Toyota Corolla 1.4 VVTI 97BHP Corolla weighs 1130kg. It's alright on a flat but dies a bit on hills unless you have a really good run up.

A really underrated car, if it had a Ford badge it would be 3 times the price!

Are you still running stock power? The 1.5td and 1.7td can hold a lot of more power than stock. Iam driving a 1.5td corsa b with around 100hp since 20k kms now without a problem. Drives much better than stock. Would love to drive a cavalier 1.7, but here in germany they are extremely rare

Yes still stock power. I know you can turn the boost up but I don't have any plans to do this as I like is as it is.

Vauxhall cavi 1.7 Td I had brand new Gls. From new it would do 125mph flat out the turbo kicked in about 2100 rpm. My first car was a mk1 fiesta then a mk2. I worked for Vauxhall in my early year's. I remember them well had the 1.6 1.7td 1.8 8v and the 1.8 ecotec also had the 2.0 8v they are Good car's I liked them. I then moved on to the vectras mk1 right the way up to the last mk2 2.0 DTI I have a short video on my page of one the last vectras I owned it was the 140 hp Sri with Kent cams the car had been in a smash I repaired it ran it for few month's then sold it. I remember the Cavi's being bad for the sills and archs I put archs in a few lol.👌👍

Cheers mate I will check out your Vectra video. I had a 2.0 Ecotec one many years ago and loved it.

My 1.6 cav is on 39k and has a carbarater, it's a 91 h plate and apart from the dealer I bought it from I'm only the 2nd owner.
Your welcome to have a look at it on my channel 👍
