Great vid Joe.Brought memories flooding back as I used to fish the Saturday opens at boddingtons in the winters of late 90s when the average carp was 4/5 pound.One very frosty early Jan day I drew round the point in the bird sanctuary and had my rod /reel pulled in and the fished stopped right in the middle of boddingtons. I walked round to the boat house to see if I could borrow some sort of rowing boat and managed to borrow one ( reluctantly from the boat house people understandable cos of the dangers) .I paddled it out to the middle and gratefully retrieved my Diawa rod and shamano reel and got crucified with all the anglers in the match ,calling me pugwash and other names.Made it back to the bank so all ended well and the carp what caused it all was about 4lb common which I had to let go obviously cos of the long walk back to the match length. It tends to mean they've approached the bait from above rather than below, but only if thats consistently happening. Id consider shallowing up, but hard to know with just one fish. No sadly no Evesham this year
