    - Began in 1526 when the dynasty's founder, Babur, a Timurid prince from Andijan (now in Uzbekistan), established himself in Kabul and eventually moved to the Indian subcontinent
    - Lasted until the British East India Company deposed the last Mughal emperor in 1857
    - Notable for its effective rule over India for over two centuries and its attempt to integrate Hindus and Muslims into a united Indian state
    - Founded by a Chagatai Turkic prince named Bābur, who was descended from the Turkic conqueror Timur
    - Most prominent emperors include Akbar the Great, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Aurangzeb
    - The Mughal Empire was divided into many regional kingdoms and princely states in its declining era, with the British eventually taking control of India in 1857

Mughal ıs a persianized version of the word mongol. Chengiz Khan was a mongol and his name was Temugin which means iron monger. However he was the son of a mongol chieftain. Babur was a descendant of Chengiz Khan and that is why the dynasty he founded in India is called a Mughal dynasty.
Most muslim rulers even the Ottoman Turks spent their free time doing carpentry. After the fall of the Empire the Mughals went into hiding and earned their livelihood from carpentry and iron mongering. The industrial revolution of Pakistan owes a lot to them. So you can say that when the Mughal empire fell their hobby saved them from total extinction and today they are all engineers.
