    I wonder if the problem I'm having is similar. I have one of those plastic "balls" to control my shower flow. It's so hard to move that over the course of the past year, it's damaged the plastic so much that it's started breaking off little chunks and I have to turn the water on and off a bunch of times to get the right temp. You know, turning it a little this way and a little that way, it's so frustrating.
    If I take the screw out of the middle, is water going to spray all over me? [I don't have access to the water main. I would have to put in a work order for the apartment maintenance guys to come fix it.

      Send me a picture of what you have Shari. you should always be able to take the plate
      Off and hopefully there is isolation valves on you valve. Especially in an apartment building.

      This was the easiest try I could think of, before starting surgery. 😂

    Would have been great if you could hear the banging before changing the valve.

      You didn’t hear that? Did not want to let it go long. The neighbors were already mad.

    Hi, my bathroom spigot is leaking. The value to change from tub spigot to shower is right below the on/off. It's a Delta.

    I cured water hammer by shutting off the main supply and opening every faucet inside and outside the house.

    I have a shower head that is causing pipe hammering and water pressure pulses. Hoping that a change of the cartridge is the easy fix. Thanks for the video.

    I have the same problem. once we turn on the spout, there's a water hammer noise. Do you think just need to replace the mixing valve or the cartridge? I have two spouts in my house that create water hammer noise after turning on. Or water pressure? Thanks

    So I'm in in a condo building and there's a water hammer problem. It looks like its not the faucet, does it mean that my building has to replace the valve ?

    I put a new shower head on and it’s vibrating the top. The bottom one that ur doing in the video isn’t vibrating ! What could be the problem.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I bet it is the shower head. The flow restrictor in the shower head could be the issue. Did it make the noise with your old shower head?

      @@ThatFixItGuyI’m having the same issue the above person mentioned. I had a cheap (Walmart) handheld shower head that recently broke. Never had any issues. I bought a Moen handheld shower head and installed it. Now when I turn on the water, it makes a loud vibrating/hammering noise.

    I had thumping in the pipes going to my HD Pegasus (Glacier Bay) shower valve a few years after it was installed. All facets, toilets, dishwasher, and washing machine cycles caused the shower pipes to thump when shutting off the faucets. I changed the back portion of the valve and the noise got a little better but not eliminated. I even installed water hammer arresters on the toilets and washing machine, no help. The problem was in the cut off valves on each side of the mixer valve. There is a spring loaded plunger behind those screws that gets loaded with calcium and gets stuck and needs to be cleaned by soaking in vinegar and water. After I cleaned the plungers and the inside of the cut off valves all the noise was eliminated. Just use a socket to remove the entire cut off valve after shutting off the water to the house.
