My interpretation is they're a manifestation of the feeling of being watched, but they're also the feeling of hyper-awareness. So it's tying into the mental state, and represents the feelings of always feeling judged and on display, while also being hyper-aware of this fact and how people view you and what's going on around you. As a person going roughly through clinical depression and severe anxiety disorder, I can say by your concept of this video with the characters and emotions fits so well in both ways. The song lyrics you chose out of were so fitting I was shocked. I also enjoy how you interpreted the vision of the person them self, it makes sense to me. THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL AND SO SAD AND TRAGIC! is it weird I cried while watching this...? it's very relatable in a way. I don't know if you were going for this but it reminds me of my anxiety and depression killing me. Yeah it's weird I can see myself in your character but I just can.
OH GOSH THANK YOU AND BUCKLE UP THIS COULD TAKE A WHILE! So, it's BASICALLY up for your interpretation but my general idea is a person struggling with anxiety and/or depression (everyone experiences those things differently however so it is heavily influenced by the experiences I've felt myself or seen in others. In my experience, "Episodes" would cause a flare of emotion/rush of anxiety where it felt like the whole world was crashing down, and when the moment was over, you just sort of have to... move past it and carry on with life, y'know? So this person's going through an episode and their mental state is represented by a copy of themselves, representing their mind/mental state. Obviously the whole exchange isn't real, just a representation, but I like the imagery of someone actually physically fighting and resisting their issues! But even as their doing this, the mental state is still winning and distorting and growing (The changes in copy's appearance, how the hair grows/swirls around them; it shuts out the light, it's suffocating etc.) and knows exactly what to do/say to overwhelm and control the person. And it does win, the person gives in, lets it overtake them and consume them and it's damaging to them (The strangulation). And even when the episode is over, the person is still "Trapped" (so the chains) with their mind and even though it's ultimately painful, they still have to live with it. They accept that fact; the illness isn't going away so all they can do is learn to live and deal with it, even when episodes flare up. Which is why they're together in the end, after the episode has passed. It doesn't go away, it's always there, and it will flare up again, but you don't know when. This song was perfect to me in getting out this concept because it can show the two sides of it. When I was anxious when I was younger, I convinced myself that it was just because I was looking out for myself and keeping me safe, it's that sort of idea. I don't know if it makes sense when writing it down though X'D I can see why people associate this song with mental illness etc. because the lyrics are SO GOOD especially during the big confrontation "Why won't you let me free? You'd never DARE to be"/"Can't you leave me alone? Can't we just get along?" like listen to that whole bit again and it fits brilliantly!!! I WENT ON A RANT SORRY BUT I HOPE THAT'S SATISFYING!!! At first the faded clone seemed nice and looked like she was only trying to make the best desicions for the both of them But as the animatic/animation goes she turns darker saying she's only misunderstood and manipulating the beliefs of the original I think the conversation went a little something like “I'm only trying to protect you. Please listen to me. I promise it's for your own good. Don't leave me. I'm here for you. Come back to me” And the original believed letting her guard down then the shadow took advantge of that and tried to kill her. Once the girl frigured out what was happening, it was already too late and she was already entitled to the mysterious shadow At least that's what I think happened,,,,,, I could be wrong, but hey, great video, I loved it
Yup, the original album of Evelyn Evelyn is about the life of conjoined twins, the music is fantastic and the story is actually really tragic! but the way it's delivered lightens it up juuuust a bit - like it allows the listener to figure out what's really happening, because the story's told from the eyes of children. It's mega good! I highly reccomend it!

A lot of people are interpreting this as depression, which I can see. But I see it as a toxic relationship. The person hurts you, you are scared of them. Then they apologize and are “nice”. But in the end they are always a bad person. You hold onto them though, as you feel like you can’t let them go.

Highschool is a terrifying place (This coming from the hindsight of a 24 year old haha), and you are absolutelly not alone in that feeling; it stays with you at different times. Highschool can be really fun too once you find the right people to associate with haha! Wow! I really love this. It's so easy to relate to, especially in the fact that anxiety/depression convinces you that you're looking into a mirror when you're actually looking into a black hole. Your art is amazing as well. Your facial expressions are on point. Goals tbh.

A lot of people are interpreting this as depression, which I can see. But I see it as a toxic relationship. The person hurts you, you are scared of them. Then they apologize and are “nice”. But in the end they are always a bad person. You hold onto them though, as you feel like you can’t let them go.
