    How beautiful is that. The way she is crying shows she was raised in a healthy, beautiful and thriving environment. The kids so eager to leave always shows red flags to me because I was one of them. You did a fabulous job raising her. 💖

    I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry watching this video. I've been a viewer since The Mom's View (California days). I feel like you've all been talking about this day for so long, and it finally happened! I remember moving away for college and my family and I having a little cry session right before they drove away. It was so hard those first few weeks, but it did get easier. Being able to talk on the phone or video chat did help. Seeing how hard it was for you all to say goodbye says a lot about your bond as a family. Brailee is going to learn SO much about herself during this time, and maybe find her passions! She'll be home before you know it.

    I’m 30 and I still live with my parents, and don’t intend on moving out. My sister and her husband live here too. My boyfriend doesn’t sleep here, but lives 1 minute away and spends most of his time here. We’re a close knit Italian family and we all do our part to keep the household running. We share meals every night and talk about our days, and I can’t imagine wanting to leave this love and support system. Life is too short and family is what I value most, as well as simple living. The western independence ideal has always confused me. My friends all moved out and are chronically stressed, depressed, lonely, seeking and searching. If I was treated poorly or unhappy, of course I’d leave, but I’m very fulfilled! Just thought I’d share because I agree with your feeling on that.

      I definitely understand where you are coming from. I lived with my parents until I was 30, and am so grateful for our bond. However, I felt I didn’t truly come into my own until I left home. Becoming totally independent on myself changed me in ways it’s hard to put into words. I still talk to my parents almost every day and our relationship hasn’t suffered a bit. Not telling you to leave, but please don’t rule it out.

    It’s a very western (not sure if European) view point to move out as soon as you turn 18. But in a lot of cultures, adult children will live with their parents well into their 20s and 30s or until they get married. And of course there are village like compounds where you never leave your immediate and extended family. I think not leaving until your 20s sets you up better in life to not have that “struggle” phase, but I totally get wanting to have total “freedom” as well. I am blow away at what Brai is doing and super proud. I def wouldn’t have had the courage to do that at her age. Well done!!!

    • @benedettagrasso4623
      @benedettagrasso4623 ปีที่แล้ว

      I moved out at 17 and felt like I was a lot braver than I am now! I would never do it now as a full adult and I wasn’t particularly nervous 😅 and it made me closer to family too and like family casted a bigger net than the physical one and talked with theme everyday, had moments where I could regress too or now that they are about to be grandparents are just as involved . Everyone is different and culturally it is more engrained int eh west but children need a form of independence around that age in various shapes:)

    My daughter is turning 13 this week and I am loosing my mind over that! I can’t imagine what you are going through! I’m sure it doesn’t help that you are pregnant and hormonal! Although this is hard she is doing something so great! I pray that God gives you peace and strength! Sending my love from WA state 🌲

    She's gonna do great!! You'll be okay, both of you will be okay. My daughter goes to her Dad's for 2 months every summer ( not exactly the same) it was hard the first time, but now the time flies past and it's over before i know it. She is talking about moving to a different State for college~

    When I was 19 I moved from Vancouver to Toronto, to live with my boyfriend. I lived away for 5 years. Now we’re back living close to my family, but im so glad I did that!

    I feel you Kayli. My 19 yo dtr just got home after a 3 mos adventure. From 🇨🇦 to 🇺🇸 and I was a mess. It got slightly less…painful/ confusing after a month and then I visited her at 2 mos and then I was ok. Now she’s home and seeking her next adventure. I’m still processing that she’s not home forever and will be leaving again. 😢 🙂

    May 28, 2014-the date my daughter and her bf (now husband) moved from Cleveland to Orlando, to their “big kid” jobs and life. Since then, they got married, have had two kids, have bought a house and are doing great-living their dream. We talk every day and still have a very strong relationship. To get through it all, I just keep reminding myself that this is what I always wanted… strong confident and independent people. Just keep repeating “roots and wings” and pray- a lot. It will all be ok!

    Ugh I’m crying with y’all! I can’t imagine. I’m crying because I have to drop my 4 year old off at preschool for the first time. I don’t even want to think about my kids leaving the house! Praying for her to have a safe trip and a safe trip home!🙏❤️

    You have a very close knit family unit so for now you’ll feel there’s a missing link. I remember my Son leaving his middle school for the summer and knowing his next school would be his secondary school. I sobbed when I picked him up that last day because I saw it as the end of his innocent childhood and knowing he was growing up so fast. I wanted to stay that age. There’s something only a Mother feels in these times. A maternal thing. When they leave home you have the empty nest syndrome too. It hurst like Hell but your a brilliant Mum going through the emotions of life. She will be back in a blink of an eye, trust me. Look forward to hearing all about it ❤ I’m from 🇬🇧
