Regarding the broken glass pieces flying up, would you be able to use some sort of tape to hold it all together- like a screen protector would? Or would the heat from the gun cause it to separate?

U could if u wanted to, it is a personal preference really

Tape also helps with holding the screen together when you were trying to pull up the whole thing, pertaining to the big pieces

Trying to replace battery on an Air. Trying to use ifixit heating pad. Cannot seem to get a razor blade between glass and back cover. Seems nearly impossible to separate enough space to push the blade in. Any tips? Thank you!!

Please help me. I can't glue the metal shield that surrounds the home button at all, whenever I do this it seems to work but when I fit the screen the button always comes loose. hugs from Brazil.

2 mm and 3 mm is ideal for working on iPads, for iPhones, only use 2 mm because the frame is so small

First time I changed the touchscreen with the battery connected and it didn’t turned on, and I was already mounted it completely back, so I had to open it again, disconnected the battery and replugg all the connector’s again and voaila…it works

Just be careful ppl. I cracked the corner of my screen a few minutes ago while (very carefully) attempting to use a razor blade to do what all these videos make seem super easy when they run those plastic guitar pick tools along the edges. I’m an experienced tech guy and gave it a shot but I do not recommend this. GL

Just FYI, men use hairdryers and women do iPad repairs. “Borrow from your mom, your sister, or your wife…” seriously?

I'll include "men" next time. I'll also include animals too, seems like they need to air dry themselves too.

I thought it was funny. “you can borrow it from your mom” cracked me up.
