    Good video! I just wish you provided a bit more information on how to install the home button ribbon. When I took it off, I couldn’t tell how it was connected so I had to watch a different video. Would have been nice to have a one stop shop. But still appreciate the effort you put into this video!

    thankyou so much. I managed to replace the screen digitizer on my mothers 1st gen ipad. The only mistake I made was a little too much heat on my initial corner which blemished a little bit of the corner of the screen. Barely noticable. Thanks again!

    I can see now why you'd prefer to reuse your own home button if possible. I mutilated the ribbon receptical trying to get the ribbon in there right, so no home button for me now. Fortunately you can get home simply by swiping up on the screen. Everything else went pretty smoothly. Thanks for posting!

    Thank you so much! Your instructions were pretty spot on! First time trying to do this and everything you provided was excellent. Successfully replaced my screen! :) The only thing i had trouble with was popping the final glass piece since my kit did not come with adhesive tape so there was a bit of a gap between the screen and casing. I think it was mostly around the area with the black tape surrounding the screen overlay 16:30 section. I think thats where the tape didnt hold well but other than that your instructions were perfect thank you so much!! You saved my kid and me $100+ bucks!

    I followed the video and made a mistake. I attached LCD screen, put 3 screws and tried to turn IPod on. It didn't work and I tried to reconnectl LCD screen connector. During the reconnecting I felt smoke smell and recalled that I didn't shut IPod of... the try was unsuccessful, but thanks for video

    • @kelleybryant9351
      @kelleybryant9351 ปีที่แล้ว

      The home button supplied with a replacement will not work with Touch ID. Apple cryptographically mates the original button hardware to the iPad to lessen the chance of anyone faking the input. The replacement works fine as a home button, just no Touch ID.

    Thanks to your helpful demeanour and reassuring tone I have managed to not utterly balls this up thank you indeed sir. As another comment said, a little bit more guidance/zoom in with the home button would have been great as I copied what you did and kept the existing one and it's still not sitting quite right but works enough for my button thrashing needs. If the kids break the blooming thing again then they are watching this!

    Min 17:34 you're not suppose to tape the short ribbon cable to the screen, you have to let it hang under it I wish I didn't follow your step... Just because I followed this decision of yours I couldn't properly stick the new screen on that area... 👎 I should have followed the method that has been used on my previous broken screen... Disappointing....
