I was an acting student in 1975 when I attended a performance of Arturo Ui at the Charles Playhouse in Boston. Al Pacino and John Cazale were the stars supported by a brilliant cast. Front row seats within 20 feet of these two legends left me in awe. Fifty years have past and the memories of that night remain indelible.

Some actor/actresses have that ability to morph into their character to where you don't see the actor, you see the character. John Cazale was one of those people and so is Meryl Streep. It's no wonder their connection was there between them. I'm sure he helped her so much in establishing her career. May he rest in peace.🙏🏻💖

Well done video and summary of Cazale's career. He always looked and acted the part of the characters he portrayed. He seamlessly fit in, never over-playing his roles. Unfortunately the Academy Awards Committee under-rated and under-appreciated him. Most of the time, their decisions are based on politics and influence-pedalling anyway. They hopefully will at some point come to their senses, right this wrong and give him an award posthumously.

John Cazale was a different kind of actor. He had a certain aura that made him be able to carry scenes without detracting from any other actor who was sharing scenes with him. That's the way life is, you know, real life. Few actors are gifted like that. Many actors take the air out of the room, but not the truly great actors. Truly great actors are relating to whoever is in the scene with them. Meryl Streep is gifted in the same way, there's still enough air in the room to share with the others in the scene. Pacino used to be that way, but now he does take all of the oxygen, or perhaps that's just my way of seeing him these days.
Eh, I might be overstepping my analysis since he's such a big personality.
    I'll think about that overnight.
