It's not a bug! The planted meadow grass doesn't regrow while animals are in the pen. You are supposed to rotate the animals to another pen/meadow to allow the grass to regrow. But, if you plant a grass field then place your pen and chose not to plant meadow, yes the grass field will regrow with the animals still in the pen.
Ah ok, I thought the bug I had seen mentioned was specifically about the meadow grass not growing back even after the animals had been removed, but I could be misremembering something 🤷♂️ thanks for tip!
Do note that stacking bales on that area means the goats are never going to eat the planted grass in their enclosure. animals consume food in the order of top to bottom as they are listed in the menu where you can see all your animal farms. This means that if you stack grass bales in the food area it will always be full in the food capacity of the pen. The priority of eating will never shift down to the planted grass / meadow. What I do is I get the more expensive pen, and calculate what I need to provide on top of meadow. Goats consume 100 l food per goat and per month. So If I have 90 goats and meadow level is only 6000, I top it up with 3000l bale for that month. Alternatively, you can get a pen that can hold twice the size of goats you need. Say you need 80 goats, make the enclosure that can hold 160+ goats, and then sell the babies twice every year. This way you will never have to worry about meadow being exhausted and you will get bonus income from selling baby goats.
Not sure if you know but if you use the water tank you can refill it and fill the green house the same time as long as the tank is in the water and you are close enough to green house filling point, might need a longer tanker but saves on trips (even small ones) and time. maybe terraform the lake to get a bit closer to green house is another option
Buy all old goats. They won’t produce any milk until 16 months old. You’ll use a lot of grass and a lot of time and get no return for a long time. I hope you get better. I had this awful cold all Nov/Dec. lost voice and all. You also had me yelling to the screen when you upgraded the John deer. Grab the pallets!!!!
just to let you know, they added a bailer/wrapper combo on the mods tab that does 150CM bales. it's from the last Farming sim game. it's pretty pricey but might be worth while if it goes into the sale. reg price is around 110,000. also as far as i know, the actual equipment has a way to switch the wrapper part so you can roll grass bales without needing to turn the grass into hay for the sheep/goats. the advantage to the barn is the food capacity and the water is included. you can also modify the pen aswell but starts at 97,000 before doing the custom pen. in my opinion it's worth it. happy your feeling better brother!
Yeah I did see that mod, but I'm trying to stick to stock equipment only for this challenge... I did test the combo baler in my other game, and as far as I could tell, there's no way to turn the wrapper off for grass bales. And yeah I wish I had done some more tests with the pasture vs. the barns beforehand... It would be nice having the extra capacity and not having to worry about water, but I'm not too concerned about that. The biggest advantage that I see is the space savings with that big barn. My huge pasture only got me 72 goats, but that big barn can hold 68 at a fraction of the size, although with a higher initial cost. I could have saved a lot of room to get almost the same number of animals. Or I could fit at least 3, maybe 4 barns in that same space and end up with way more animals. Hindsight is 20/20 though lol, I'm happy with the pasture for now, but I'm thinking I will probably switch to a barn at some point in the future to free up more space on the homestead
I think what we are seeing is the result of the adding ground deformation into the game. if you drove through there and left ruts before placing something like a greenhouse or bunker, those ruts leave odd anomalies behind that cause problems. Also, I think there are times when your tires are making ruts underneath the buildable which end up giving weird stuff as well. those random potholes in your sileage i think were from instances like that. The repair themselves when you leave and come back just like your tire ruts do.
The world surface bugs have been in this game from the start. Unfortunately they never fix them. For every new rendition they only add functions and graphics.
Fantastic progress!!! Now that you’ve placed down the goat pen, perhaps you can clean up the edges of where you ploughed the field with terrain paint and place some trees to hide the ugly grain mill in the back? Just to make it look a bit better 🐐🌳🌱
So you can steal bails but you will need the trailer that chops them up after they change into shilge. After chopped up you can sell it. Same with hay bails after you bails them you can toss them in the same trailer and chop them up and then sell it. You need to change it state before you can sell it.
Lol wait until the new green houses come out. All I have to say is wow. With fertilizer and seed it doubles the output. It's nunuts. Oh they look awesome.
Hello what’s the songs name you used when you plowed at the homestead area? It’s a really nice song. Is it your favorite? I have heard it before on your videos
I think that only applies to cows... At least the build menu only mentions that difference with the cow pens 🤷♂️ but it wouldn't be the first time the build menu leaves out relevant info lol
Planting the pasture in Dec isn't a big deal imo. It changes literally nothing since if you planted in Nov, first growth would not be until Mar anyways, and it's not really a cash-crop. If the meadow grass wasn't bugged, the construction would have planted fully grown grass in Dec and actually give the goats a little food, so technically the way you did it while "cheat-ey" is actually harder in a way lol
Did you put the wrong building down for the goats because you should be able to get milk from them but that looks like just a breeding pen only. I think you might want t look into that. Sorry if i showed you a mistake 😢
I think that only applies to cows... A couple people have mentioned that though so I was getting worried... I haven't had a chance to test it in my own game, but I just watched Farmer Cops goat video and he does get goat milk from the pasture, so I think I'm ok... Hopefully lol

That is exactly the bug i saw. Not growing wven when animals were removed from pen. @@syrupgames
I legit check TH-cam everyday to see if your next video has dropped. I love this!
Are you not subbed to receive notifications?
OCD man meets farm sim 25 haha. I love the series, in an ironic way, you overthinking things and talking about them relaxes me. Keep it up!
Glad you're enjoying it!

Ah ok, I didn't know that, thanks for the advice! I definitely have a lot to learn about how animal husbandry works in this game lol

I did not know that, thanks for the tip!
Love your video, I tell all my friends to watch you. Keep up the great work
Thanks for watching and spreading the word!
Love these. Been listening at work gotta re watch all these later driving my wife crazy with the farming simulator

Pleasant surprise ! Something to watch for tonight, thank you !

Ah that would make a lot of sense, good insight!
Happy to have a new video! Was just looking through my notification history about 30 minutes ago to make sure I didn't miss an upload!
Another great video can’t wait for more!

Definitely still planning to clean up the edges a bit!
Wooooo lets gooo! Cant wait to watch this entire episode.

Thanks for watching!
For the algorithm. I'm caught up and have been enjoying the content
Thanks for the boost!

Nice, I'll keep an eye out for those!
@syrupgames DJ just did a video on new mods and it has a new greenhouse in it and that's now the one I'm talking about, but that one is nice too.
@syrupgames The mod is from gamergrannytana. Watch her video on it, it's worth the watch.
Hey! Great video, keep up the good work :) Much love!
Thanks!
Keep up the good work. Enjoying the series.
Thanks for watching!
Yeh perfect upload timing :)
Very pleased to be this early, absolutely love the work you’re doing !!
Thanks!

The goat got goats 😂❤
Hello what’s the songs name you used when you plowed at the homestead area? It’s a really nice song. Is it your favorite? I have heard it before on your videos
I went whole hog on grass I'm up to a couple hundred thousand a harvest. Corn wood then cows is next for me.
You won't get any milk from that type of pasture, you'll need a barn.
I think that only applies to cows... At least the build menu only mentions that difference with the cow pens 🤷♂️ but it wouldn't be the first time the build menu leaves out relevant info lol
You do get milk from this pasture because goats make bottles they’re not stored in massive tanks in barns.

Yeah that was kind of my thought too, glad you agree!
I was about to pass out from holding my breath for the next one!!!!
Haha sorry for the wait!
@syrupgames Im glad you are feeling better and in good health though.
I've seen on someone else's video that they backed out to the main screen and came back and the invisable bumps were gone.
Ok, thanks for the tip! I was wondering if something like that might happen, I just didn't want to risk it!
Yes restarting your save game fixes those surface glitches.
Did you put the wrong building down for the goats because you should be able to get milk from them but that looks like just a breeding pen only. I think you might want t look into that. Sorry if i showed you a mistake 😢

@@syrupgames I hope so 🤷♂️

Why dont you build a mini repair shop in your base
I do want to get my own repair shop eventually, just hasn't been the highest priority yet
Are you a farmer?
Not anymore... I worked on a farm for many years, but these days the only farming I do is in this game
