Damn this helped me. I was gonna try to iron on a decal vinyl and I was wondering why it seem right. It's my 1st time using a Cricut and I thought I had to mirror this to out on a tshirt so not only did I get the wrong vinyl, I also mirrored it for no reason. 🤦♀️

This happened to me last night. Smh. My first press I was so lost. Why it wasn't sticking at all. I had some premium vinyl but I believe it was made for a different type of craft
I HAVE A QUESTION . I BUY CRICUIT IRON ON MATERIAL USED FOR SHIRTS NOT FOR 100% POLYESTER. BUT THE SHIRTS I BUY ARE 60% COTTON ANS 40 POLYESTER... MY IRON ON DOESNT STAY . I TRIED SPORT MATERIAL IT STICKS BUT HESITANTLY... HOW TO STICK THE IRON ON SHKULD HEAT BE INCREASED ?
my guess is try heavier pressure with your heat press and maybe try pressing hotter. i've never used cricuit vinyl before so im not familiar.
Great Explanation video
Thank you for the info, awesome video
thanks, very useful video
Thank you brada!

Hi!! First of all thank you for guiding me to buying my heat press! I have a question. My vinyl is peeling off after washes. I'm using siser easy weed, heat pressing at 320 for 5 sec peel of and then press for 20 sec. I'm using Rabbit skin and bella and canvas tshirts 100% cotton both. TIA
How is your pressure on your heatpress? Also make sure to use check the temp to ensure your temp is accurate.
Try firm pressure at 305 degrees for 15 seconds. Make sure you have a smooth surface when you’re pressing. It you’re pressing toddlers or infants you might need a pressure pillow to make sure even pressure is distributed throughout your material. Also, wash inside put on delicate cycle cold. Hang dry if you can or tumble dry. Wash 24 hours after your initial press. Try that and see if it helps.
i would suggest heavier pressure ans pre press the garment to ensure all moisture is out before applying HTV.
@OG SPORTS COLLECTIBLES there should be a turn knob on the heat press itself
Great info. Thanks
i appreciate that! thanks for watching
So basically cricut everyday iron on is not made for cotton ?
i have no idea what cricut everyday iron on is made for. i've never used it. it should say on the label what it can be pressed on
Very informative Big Brandoh
txsss it really help
We seem to have a similar issue but the vinyl looks raggedy after It’s went thru the washing machine. Is this the same type of issue?
raggedy as in peeling off? or cracking?
peeling usually happens when its applied with not alot of pressure. try increasing the pressure. also pre press the garment before applying HTV to get all of the moisture out.
cracking might happen when its applied with too much heat. try decreasing the temp a little.
always double check your temp with a laser thermometer to get an accurate reading.
Helpful! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Brandoh thank you 2st time watching. Im a beginner at this. I purchased a cricut I need a heat press what do you recommend?
i like the craft pro by hpn. best functions for the money! craftpro.bigbrandoh.com check out the specs and see if it fits your budget and your needs. i also got a video about the 9x13 version.
Thanks fam u taught me something
thanks for watchin 👊🏾
Hi Brandon, I bought oracal 651 permanent vinyl no instruction no holes on the sides, I dont know where is this for 😊
that is decal vinyl for windows and signage. heat transfer vinyl is usually labeled as heat transfer. and comes with application instructions
So I have a heat vinyl I been trying to make it stick to the t-shirt. I normally do a front and back t-shirt. But today the front not sticking
Thank You
thanks for watching
Thanks You for video.
thanks for watching
I pressed a design and when I went to peel the tape off the design came up with the tape like it didn’t press into the shirt at all I’m so confused
Mind blown had no idea they had different vinyl for different for vinyl for different fabric types
Yeah I bought one that was HTV vinyl and the shirts didn't turn good lol the transparent side wasn't sticky either like the one that came with the cameo printer need some help..
what do you mean didnt turn good? if you bought htv made for cotton and you pressed it on a cotton shirt and it didnt work, you might need to adjust your application settings.
@@BigBrandoh like the vinyl wouldn't stay on the shirt after I would heatpress it and afterwards after alot of presses even burned the shirt but that was on me and ill do that thanks bro
Great video
I hear vinyl and gildan shirts is bad because when u wash the shirt it comes off is this true? If so what shirt brand is good for vinyl
the vinyl brand and the t shirt brand have nothing to do with the print coming off the shirt. whoever told you that, wasnt applying that vinyl correctly on that shirt. buy any 100% cotton shirt and apply any htv made for cotton
@@BigBrandoh thx big bro!💙
Nice jersey did you make it yourself?? If so where did you get the Jersey and htv
nah. this jersey is from www.MitchellandNess.com but if you wanted to make jerseys. you just buy the HTV for whatever material the jersey is made out of. so if the jersey is made out of Polyester. but HTV made for polyestet
Our heat transfer vynil peels off after a wash... We buy the cricut heat transfer vynil and use it on cotton T-shirts. The problem is that it always ends up peeling off slowly after each wash. Is it the material or is there a method to heat pressing this ?
most of the time peeling happens when htv is not applied with the correct pressure or when its applied to a shirt that holds moisture.
2 things to try out, increase the pressure on your heat press. go as heavy as possible. if it has a knob on top, crank it down all the way and then back it off a turn or two. or until you can get a solid press and clamp.
and make sure you pre press every garment. your shirt might feel dry to the touch but there still might be some moisture held in the material from humidity. lower the press till it touches the shirt for 3-5 secs. if you lift the press and see steam come off the shirt thats the moisture.
hope this helps. ive never used cricut htv before. so im just taking a guess at what the issues might be.
Thank you so much for your reply, very detailed and to the point. I will def be trying these things out. 😊👍
Is it okay to stick decal vinyl on a t-shirt with fabric glue?
no. i wouldnt recommend doing that.
What HTV would you recommend for 100% polyester? Sister Easyweed? Easyweed stretch?
polyester is tricky. i would use bflex. for its low temp and quick press time.
whenever you press on polyester you run the risk of dye migration. thats when you heat up the material and the color migrates on to the print. say you got a red shirt and you press white htv on it. dye migration will turn that white htv to like a pinkish color
I bought heat transfer vinyl but i can’t weed out the letters it’s like it’s not cutting all the way through
you might have to adjust your cut settings, make sure your cutting the right side and also make sure there isnt a protective film over the vinyl. i've seen some vinyls have a clear film over the top.
@@BigBrandoh ahh yes the vinyl was the wrong way thank u and do u know where I can buy tshirts in bulk?
When I hear press vynl sometimes it leaves bubbles when I lift up, do you know how to fix that?
Thank you nice vide.
Decal vinyl?
what about decal vinyl?
GOOD DAY SIR! Out of topic question. How can I remove vinyl residue from the shirt? I already remove the vinyl itself, problem is there is still a sticker residue. Badly need help.
try using VLR. you can find it at hpn.bigbrandoh.com
Hello say for example I have 30 shirts to make the design is 11.5x20 how many sheets/yards of htv will I need ?
i dont know. hahaa you gotta do the math. you know your dimensions of your design. find out how many inches in a yard and then start adding it all up till you get your number
Were to get heat transfer bundles
check the links in my description box
Thanks a lot awsome videos 👍🏼
What vinyl would I use for a 50/50 blend of cotton and polyester? Please , need help
So I recently got a Cricut Air 2 and it came with Removable Vinyl.. is that the same as the decal vinyl you speak of in this video? Thanks
yes. they have removable and permanent decal vinyl.
Thank you for answering! I tried a project last night and it did not cut through the vinyl. It only scratched it lol. I had it on iron on. Do I need to use a different setting?
sorry but i never used a cricut before so i dont know anything about that cutter.
lfwalker 83 I have a cameo. Try adjusting the sharpness of the blade..I think you have to adjust the setting...
What is the next 2 step are when you get a heat press??
so does heat transfer vinyl have the "white" glossy type of paper on the back of it? I'm struggling!!!
all the HTV's ive used has a clear backing. all the decal vinyl i've used has a paper backing
I got a question bro .... Can I use iron on vinyl on my heat press I got some glitter vinyl and it's not sticking
Thanks for your time
I figured it out bro lol I had to let it cool down
hahaa glad you figured it out. hahahaa i really didnt have a solution for you. hahahaaaaa
would a siser glitter easyweed htv work for a 90% poly/ 10% spandex jacket?
not sure. i never pressed on a jacket like that. im guessing as long as the htv is made for those materials it should work.
how do you know what heat transfer or the plastisol transfers you be talking about??
what do you mean? in this video im showing Heat Transfer Vinyl and Decal Vinyl
Can you plz plz plz! Tell me why is it that I’ve purchased two different hoodies from two different ppl who use heat press and when I rub on the shirt you can feel the vinyl. I’ve had shirts in the past where there were words or images on it and you the vinyl blended into the shirt. What procedure do you use to get it that way Heeeelp!!!
Whats the address of where you go to buy the vinyl and iron on ??
i dont know the address. but check the links in my description. they might have the address on their
Where is the best places to get your t-shirts vinyl
Decal vinyl won’t stick to the lid of my yeti cooler any idea what I’m doing wrong? The lid has a lil rough texture on top the vinyl sticks real good to the front and back where it’s smooth?
yeah it might be the lids texture or try wiping the lid down with alcohol. there might be a silicone film still on the lid from when it was molded. but im not exactly sure what the issue is because i have never attempted putting a decal on a yeti cooler.
I’ve been doing cotton tshirts for a few months now and haven’t had any problems. Recently I did an order of Dri Fit shirts and they’re peeling! How do I fix it? I used HTV at 305 degrees with a medium press. HELP 😩
gotta make sure what material the dri fit shirt is made out of. if dri fit isnt 100% cotton the htv you been using for 100% cotton might not adhere to the dri fit shirt. gotta buy htv based off of the material you are pressing on.
Is there a general temp for siser HTV. Fpr the first time today some of the vinyl was not sticking.
Is adhesive vinyl good for T-shirts???🤔
rewatch this video
Do you have a chart on the temperature to heat vinyl on material
no. all htv is different and comes with its own application instructions.
Good morning I have a question I made my son shirts but when they wear it the letter comes up I have a heat press I have my temperature at 320 but I don't understand why the letter come up can you store vinyl for a long period of time.
its probably your pressure. try increasing it. also use a laser thermometer to get an accurate temp read. adjust the heat. try pressing a little hotter for longer. its all trial and error to find the best settings for your set up
Good tips
Is it possible to use a DTG to print on transfer paper?
not sure. why not just print directly on the shirt if you got a dtg printer?
Thanks
Picked up some HTV. It says it's iron on I don't see no temperature to set my heat press too, on the instructions. What temp do you reccommend? Thanks
Temp depends on two things. Type of vinyl and type of material. 100% cotton is usually 305 degrees at 15 seconds with easyweed HTV. firm pressure.
i have no idea. all HTV i purchase comes with application instructions.
application settings depend on the adhesive used to apply. no standard setting. all htvs are different.
i would contact the supplier
