So this is for anyone that needs help. If your cricket vinyl or other vinyls arent sticking, try not hot peeling. Let it cool before you try peeling it. I've been doing this a long time and just want to help everyone succeed. Let it sit for about 10-15 then peel.
I was using Teflon and parchment paper when I first started because everyone I watched on TH-cam was using it. The HTV wouldn’t stick at ALL! I tried to do it without the protection and it worked fine. Not everything you see on TH-cam is the exact way.
After months of printing t-shirts flawlessly, all of a sudden the HTV didn't stick properly. I was like "Oh God, now I need a new heat press" 😂as I bought mine second hand and thought it was broken already. After watching your video I realised that the problem was just the pressure. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us. Keep up the good work! ❤️x
There are a # of issues on how your heat pressing goes great for weeks and then suddenly you have a project and all shit breaks loose when the vinyl is not sticking and you have a deadline. You are out of shirts. Now What? You have to become sort of a doctor and diagnose the issue. Here are a few issues and it's not your fault, you been doing everything right. A. The quality of the vinyl is poor and cheaply made B. The Vinyl has been sitting in your room for weeks and the air in the room may have changed its chemistry, C. Very rare, maybe it's the color. Your black Vinyl is sticking but your red vinyl doesn't. D. The pressure of your heating press. E. There is still moisture sitting on the shirt. (Heat press the shirt first for 10 seconds, then start your stamping) F. Buy new vinyl G. Over heat pressing: you stamped too long that the vinyl got dry and burned out, not sticking to the garment. H. And lastly, the heat press is not producing strong heat that meets the Vinyl's specifications.
I need help! I am pressing shirts for the first time. I have my heat at 350 for 18 seconds (this is probably wrong). Doing a cotton tee with HTV. The middle of the design is sticking, but the sharp corners (star design) are coming up and not sticking at all.
What kind of press do you use? And what is that thing that you have on the top of the press, that fabric? And one more thing? What HTV brand do you prefer? I’m having a hard time getting them to stick
I have that exact heat press and my top platen is wobbly. I cannot find any videos to help me out besides this one. But I still have more pressure on the bottom than the top. Is there somewhere you can post a picture of the press while it is clamped down? So I can see if I am missing something. I bought it from someone on offerup. Should've known. 🙄
Hello! My top platen is wobbly too. Not extremely wobbly but it is not firm. Send me a DM on instagram and I can send you a picture of my press. My instagram is @idalis_boutique.
Hello! Thank You for watching! So the issue with mine was the pressure. I didn't have my pressure right. Once I did the pressure test and fixed the pressure it ended up working!
Great video, the fact it took long to get to the point is irrelevant TH-camrs know how to skip ahead. A couple of things you should do before pressing is to pr-press the shirt before placing the vinyl you can also place an old shirt on the press and place the shirt you intend to press over it if your heat press cannot adjust for some reason. Another technique if all fails is to press the garment inside out meaning adhere the htv to the shirt turn inside out and press over the area of the HTV this works better because heat rises and because of this the htv adheres better even though this is the best way it is rather inconvenient but these are out of the box questions your audience may not have thought of.
I need help. I just started using a heat press just like yours in this video. I have a t shirt with cricut smart htv, size of image is about 9x10. The top of the image doesn't seem to want to adhere to the shirt, but the lower portion does but its not perfect. Do you think the pressure could be my issue too? Also, can you tell me the temp and time you would use on a 100% cotton. I normally use a cricut easy press and i've never had my shirts come out crappy. I need help. lol. thank you anyone.
Yes you can. For the heat settings, please refer to the instructions Cricut provides. I use a different brand than Cricut therefore the settings will be different.
Hello! Thanks for watching! It is the worst feeling. I was soo mad and disappointed when the vinyl wouldn't stick. Hope you figured out what the problem was.
@@kikalocs5724 Hi Kika, I set my heat press up at 300 °C for 30 seconds covering the t-shirt with a Teflon sheet. Then let the t-shirt cool for about 15 to 20 seconds, cover it up again with the Teflon sheet and press it up for another 15 seconds just in case. Then I let the t-shirt cool down for 15 minutes, unpeel the vinyl and put the tee inside the heat press covered with the same Teflon Sheet one more time for not less than 15 seconds. My prints are flawless.

It’s only happened to me with cricut vinyl. I think it’s old vinyl, I can’t think of what else it would be. It stays on the film. So frustrating.
Yep mine came with adhesive vinyl but no htv. Mine was a bundle so I got extra materials outside the packaged samples the machine came with.
I'm struggling right now! I have waisted about 5 shirts and 10 decals today. So im going to try the pressure option with the paper
Aww! I am sorry to hear that! Please make sure that you are using heat transfer vinyl, if you are, then it is most likely the pressure!
what's the gold like fabric sponge you cover your heat press with?

I was honestly getting so frustrated because nothing seemed to work! THANK YOU for this video!
Awww! I am soo happy to hear this🙏🏻 thank you for leaving a comment and for watching🤍
how did you fix the pressure though? did you tighten your heat press screws?
Right?? How do you tighten it
Hi! Can I know which brand of press are you using? I'm trying to see what is the better option

Thanks so much - you were a great help!! Pressure was the answer!
you've got a such a great personality... didn't get much from your video but for some reason I kept your video playing... must be your voice
I’ve used cricut vinyl on freezer cozies and it won’t stick. I used sizer easy weed and it worked great
Thanks for the tips! I'm just starting and everything helps so I'm keeping an eye for all the info I can get. Stay connected! I def will
What was the temperature & how much time? 🤔
I have one of those smaller presses
Would you recommend higher temp? Or longer press?
Im having the same issue as you
Hello! Thank You for watching! So the issue with mine was the pressure. I didn't have my pressure right. Once I did the pressure test and fixed the pressure it ended up working!
Go with the the recommended temperature and preasure by htv. You need press down all the way until it clicks and locks in place
Thank you for the advice.

Great idea thanks
Ok so if it's not the pressure and you have the what else could it be??? My 2nd time using $400 machine and letters wont stick😰

Since you are saying you used htv then, i am sure its the pressure! Make sure you do a pressure test before making anymore shirts!
@@Idalisco thank you.
What heat press did you get
Thank-you
Where did you purchase the cover for the top of your heat press?
Hello! I purchased mine from HeatPressNation.
can I use Cricut Iron on vinyl with the heat press and if you do what settings do you have at
Yes you can. For the heat settings, please refer to the instructions Cricut provides. I use a different brand than Cricut therefore the settings will be different.
Where do you get your vinyl from?!
Hello! Thank you for watching! I get my vinyl from HeatPressNation
Can I use normal iron ?? And where can I put the temperature high or low? Thank you
Normal iron is not recommended. Check the manual, all presses are different.
Making sure it’s nice and straight definitely 😎
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing. We’re having the same issue, and after seeing your video it definitely showed part of the problem 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Where did u buy ur heat press?
Amazon, search for Tusy!
Thanks
What press are you using?
The brand is Tusy. I got it from Amazon
I ruined so much material and almost tossed my circuit out the window because I was so frustrated! 🤬🤬🤬😡 Thank you!
My vinyl doesn’t stick well and comes off in the dryer.
This happened to me with my Christmas gift for my secret Santa and I was devastated. Thanks for posting this!
Hello! Thanks for watching! It is the worst feeling. I was soo mad and disappointed when the vinyl wouldn't stick. Hope you figured out what the problem was.
I just screwd up 4 shirts.
Aww! Don't worry it happens to everyone when they begin! YOU GOT THIS!
Brilliant explanation thank you
No cap I messed up 10 shirt back to back n was about to go crazy 😂. I just watched ya video and we back in bizz. ❤️❤️ thanks
I feel you!!! It is the worst when the vinyl won't stick! Glad you are back in business!!
Thankyou so much, it worked perfectly.
This was very helpful thank you!!!
So what's the answer
thanks a lot
That intro loud af
This comment reminds me that I need to make a new Intro. Thanks
My prints will not stick, maybe there old.
It can be different reason for why it is not sticking. I can be the pressure, wrong type of vinyl, or your heat press is not hot enough.
What was temperature???
My temperature is always at 305 F
@@Idalisco how long do you keep the heat press? i have one that does it by seconds and i did it at 70 seconds.
@@kikalocs5724 Hi Kika, I set my heat press up at 300 °C for 30 seconds covering the t-shirt with a Teflon sheet. This seems to be the story of your life.. this video should have been 30sec long, anything else has 0 value
You looked so young. Like tweenish. Lol. Until I clicked the video. 😄
Holy shit lady WAY too much unnecessary story behind this. Just get to the point!
