I don't know how Ramin does it, but when 1:08 hits, I immediately picture seahorses, the sea, a sea blue color and can almost taste the salt. That man understands music on some deeper level
I can’t help but sense despondency in this theme too. Might & majesty is there, but the tone suggests struggle & determination no matter how hard things can get.

0:18 This theme is the same melody as the song 'It's Always Summer Under the Sea,' which Princess Shireen sings in Season 3 of Game of Thrones. In the books, she learned this song from her fool Patchface, who supposedly spent time with the sea people after being shipwrecked.
idk if anyone else hears it but i think the theme actually has summer under the sea in it? there's like faint notes from that one song that shireen sings
I love the beginning of this theme so much, it starts so quiet and eerie kind of like if you see a ship in the dead of night in the ocean but you could only see their laterns glowing/lights on. The beginning also has a sadness to it a little bit but then it ramps up to power at 1:07 that's when I get goosebumps.
The opening of this score still reminds me of poor Shireen. At the opening of last night's episode, I wasn't sure if they were showing Dragonstone or Driftmark until THAT melody started playing.
I grew up in Maryland and my family's from Newfoundland and New England, i think its all the imagery brought to mind by the familiar tones of the instruments and their melody recalling the sea and the people who live around it and off of it but the Velaryon theme is my activation noise fr

This is far too short of the main theme and it's the only appearance on the whole soundtrack. Disappointing as there were definitely parts in the show where this theme part was much longer.
Yep. The scene of meleys and sea smoke flying into the wedding was longer than the segment in this track. A lot of stuff have been left out or rehashed
Their entrance at the wedding episode will forever be one of the most epic scenes of the first season!
