Ramin Djawadi has created some proper masterpieces but this, this is just perfection. Even without the context of what is going on in the show this piece is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I haven’t felt this way listening to a piece of music from a show in a very very long time.
This moment was so touching with the imagery, music and Vaemond’s eulogy for Laena, by the seaside…I cried for all of them. And in a small way, it offered some consolation to those who mourned Daenerys and Missandei, both of whom never received a proper funeral.
Laenor is really amazing. He married Rhaenyra regardless of his feelings, raised and treated the children as his own even though he knew they weren’t for everyone’s safety. I hope we only hear from him again if it’s happy news.

Clearly from the comments this song makes everyone think of someone different. For me, it’s the death of what I believed to be my true love. I think on all the mistakes that were made and how now we’re both strangers to one another. Only keeping contact for the sake of our child. I think of the disappointment my mother must feel from the grave as I she seen me lose my love and my family.
Ramin did a fabulous job conveying all the emotions of Laena's death with this track/piece. The way she decided her own fate was a masterpiece in and of itself and this send-off for her in this scene was perfect.
This one was also played in ep 10 after Rhaenyra gave birth to her stillborn daughter. But this time they had included a choir and that was even more powerful in my opinion. That comes from someone who loves strings. Such a somber and beautiful piece of music. But that version is sadly not in the official release. Anyone know if that version can be found somewhere?
