    I just love these discussions so much! I feel like I know the books and movies so well but these videos really make me think even deeper about the little things that happen. ❤

      Oh this makes me so happy, Erika! And it brings me so much joy to see you here every vid with us! Reading these has made me feel the same, how I thought I knew. I think that's what's so cool, reading them now much older than the first time I read them, and having an almost fresh perspective on them. Ya know?

    I love your sparkly blue eyeshadow! It really makes your eyes pop :)
    I also loved the scene where Fred & George give Harry the Marauder's Map. That was so selfless of them. I know they said they have all the secret passageways memorized, but they can't see where everyone (like Filch) is without the map. They are such good friends to Harry 🧡

      Thank you so much, Alex! It's the Ravenclaw palette I tested from SheGlam. I may or may not be wearing it in many videos to come. Once I get hooked on something, it's some time before I stop. haha
      Totally agree! Reading the books makes me love those twins even more than I thought possible! ♥️♥️

      Right?! I hope we get those subtle touches in the show.

    Another great discussion. I agree with you that there is not as much to talk about in these chapters. There’s a few things I love like the introduction of the Marauders Map and I really love Sir Cadogan and the fact he has small man syndrome. He is another overlooked character like Peeves, that really develop more in the books and fingers crossed that the series will do them both justice! 🤞🤞🤞
    One thing that strikes me in these chapters is how much Hermione is against Divination, as is McGonagall. They are both very strong female characters and both very sure of their opinions. However, as I have already mentioned, I think Trelawney is very underrated by most of her colleagues and pupils and she gets much more correct than they give her credit for. Hermione is just pissed off because she’s found a subject that she is not as high achieving in.
    The only other comment I have to make about these chapters is to point out a major difference in the books to the film. In the part where Snape covers DADA, he criticised Hermione and calls her a know it all. We are all aware she is a know it all and in the films Ron makes a quip about this but in the books he supports Hermione and gets a detention for it!!!
    Looking forward to the next discussion 💙💙💙

      I loled at 'small man syndrome.' 🤣 Oh so true! I really want to see him in the show, so bad.
      Right?! I totally agree. But I also think Hermione can at times be an insufferable know it all and as I bring up in the next one, I see a lot of similarities with her and McGonagall. Poor Trelawney. You're right. She really does get such a lack of respect (except from Dumbledore, of course).
      As always I love your commentary!
      Thanks for reading along, Justine! 💙

    Luna is a year younger, Harry and her didn't have any classes together, she didn't play quidditch so Harry may possibly didn't see or notice her at all

      @LoveLumos  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, but our point is that she still attended the school and is a student that would stand out, even if in the background. Rowling has a way of popping characters in when needed but not making it truly lived in, where they would exist prior (even if just in the background). This is especially done in the films and I’m hoping they correct that in the TV show.

    Um. The whole point of the Department of Accidental Magic Reversal is that people, especially kids/teenagers, accidentally do things when emotions are high.
    Just found you btw.
    As to Harry thinking no one would notice him in Hogsmeade...who ever said most 13 year olds are logical? Most kids aren't like Hermione. 😂

    • @DraecorInc
      @DraecorInc หลายเดือนก่อน

      That was never the issue though, it is the inconsistent use of "rules". It still doesn't make sense that dobby using magic gets applied to Harry at all, let alone him getting in trouble for it, and then here he balloons Marge and it's nothing at all. In the end, there are several times throughout what we've read so far where rules just change on a whim to fit the scene and it really does my head in sometimes 😛

    • @toodlescae
      @toodlescae หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DraecorInc I think Harry *would* have gotten at least a stern lecture and/or warning but they were obviously more relieved to find him alive and concerned with keeping him safe from a mass murderer in this instance. Plus it *was* just a minor occurrence to them because it wasn't deliberate.

    • @LoveLumos
      @LoveLumos  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Fair. Our point is that if you're going to lay a magical foundation, you don't make exceptions to how the magic works and just change it for the convenience of story. Rowling does that a lot.
