We started this trip from Charleston S.C. and made it to upstate New York where the boat will be getting some work done in a ship yard. We had to pick up a barge in Virginia and tow it up the Chesapeake River, through the C&D Canal and town the delaware Bay. We made it uptake coast of new jersey and then pushed it up the Hudson River to Round-out Creek. Hope you Enjoy!
I get the feeling that the marine industry is the best kept secret in the world.
Great video. I used to work with Wijsmuller Netherlands. The longest tow I've ever made was an oilrig from the Caribbean to the Persian gulf. Took us 5 months while during the trip we were supplied by another ship. Thankfully, we had a smashing crew of 17.
Great vid… 👍
Being on the wire, under tow, is relaxing. Longest tow I was on, was from Ventura, Ca. To Dutch Harbor, Ak. 4,000 miles. Great tow. Did it 3 times. All were semi submersible drilling rigs. 1984-85
Looks like a good job hope to catch up later and see whats going on in your career
Great vids I’m from Norfolk Va
I grew up in Bear Delaware which the canal runs right through their we used to ride our three wheelers and a dirt bikes up on the dirt hills their we swam in the canal through fireworks in the canal St George's bridge the Chesapeake Bay bridge all that Schaefer's canal House so many memories through there

Are what's called a swabby ? and one more thing you said you had to dust are you sailing the dusty season of Atlanta ?
Whats the schedule like on those boats? Looks fun and diffrent from doing river work
2 weeks on the boat, 6 hours on watch 6 hours off watch. repeat for the entire 2 week trip
Depending on your boat
I do 4 weeks on 2 weeks off. Some boats do 12 hours on and 12 off. We do the 6 hours on and 6 off
