    Maniacs, feast your eyes on the second part of my Tamiya M1A2 Abrams SEP Tusk II build series, where we are going to paint and weather this thicc boi. Weathering 1/35th scale model tanks is really enjoyable because your palette is larger; however, you also can't be a lazy, sloppy dick about it either. In this video I will tastefully weather this build with a home-made pinwash, oil colors, and filters. I also give pretty decent rundown on how to airbrush your ballistic glass so that it has an interesting colored haze to it. Not a full tutorial, but there are some great tips in here that can help get you on your way to creatively painting and weathering modern US Desert Armor. Discussed in the video are topics such as : airbrushing Tamiya clear paints, painting highlights and shading, and discoloration.
    As far as the kit is concerned, it is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of constructing. Tamiya has done an amazing job with this one, albeit even if it is a little more expensive than some of the other offerings. I recommend this one, don't even second guess it. Take one look at the detail and you will agree.

    Great build and paint. I just saw a vid a dude did a Humvee and sand blasted and weathered it. Unbelievably good tan weathering.

      Thank you, Adam. I hope to one day return to video creation but my current life situation is way way too busy. I miss making content though, so we will see.

    Should try chrome silver behind the vision blocks for the reflective pannal simulation instead of the kit plastic you can see! I made that mistake before

    Just stumbled over your channel and liked a lot what I've seen so far. Like your building methods, your tips and that slightly wacky sense of humour . Q. How long would you suggest leaving a pin was before thiner cleanup, Look forward to more of your great videos. Glen, Aberdeenshire Scotland.

    What is a varnish you should use for modern German armor, building a leopard 2A7

    • @JBookieScaleModels
      @JBookieScaleModels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depend on the look you are going for….realistic, probably flatter like a matte. I tend to like the semi glosses myself m, best of both worlds. Try some Vallejo varnishes, im a big fan.

    I'm new to model building. Did you have any trouble gluing parts together after you painted them? Or did you remove paint where the joined together?

    • @JBookieScaleModels
      @JBookieScaleModels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome to the most frustrating / expensive hobby in the world. I don’t have issues gluing painted parts, just use a tiny bit of super glue and ensure the pieces bond properly.

    May I make a suggestion for a future build Hobby Boss AAVP7A1 troop landing craft. A great value kit (under £30 English) has an interior and looks pretty awesome. Have it in my stash but not brave enough to try it but think you would make a great job on this. Downside there are 98 parts that make up the tracks!!! Glen Aberdeenshire Scotland.

    Very nice video as always! Had you considered using time saving paint masks for the wheels such as from Pmask #Pw35029? They are specific to the Tamiya kit you built and available on ebay.

    How good are the original colors of the kit? Obviously i will be painting the MGs and tires and such, but overall the main color for large surfaces is my concern, as I do not have an airbrush.

      @@JBookieScaleModels Sweet. Just tryin to make sure, as I am colorblind and the difference would be much more stark to others than it would be to me lol
