I think Savanna’s passion for a different career is exciting and commendable. I wish her sisters weren’t so condescending to what excites her.
Savanah is contributing to the world. The dancers are not. I was a professional dancer. It's a very selfish aspiration. I left it behind in my late 20s looking for greater meaning to life.
Oh, I don't know. Dancing is a form of art and we certainly need more of that in the world.
@@bayoutown1990um no
I was a skater. Required as much if not more commitment. Picture these dancers on ice with a very narrow blade to stand on and risking embarrassing and painful falls. And I loved it.
@@bayoutown1990 Sorry for your experiences, but in this world of hip hop and whatever made up pop dances, I'm glad there are some that's keeping this alive. Have you been to a night club? It's a bunch of kids jumping up and down calling it dancing, but most the kids aren't even doing that, they're just standing around because they don't know how to dance.
I hope the daughter that liked the concept of being an astronaut makes it to the moon.
I wrote this same comment. Me too.
I am incredibly impressed how polite and gentle Olivia and Max handle their controversies. Most adults cannot do it that good.
Edited: that well.
Higher 'social intelligence' when young, also, they are not stuck in front of phones and computer screens either (which results in both men and women, mostly men) completely losing all sense of social intelligence, heck, most can no longer interact in any natural unforced way anymore. It's a massive problem in the west, also not good for the two sexes when they are to 'interact' etc. It's not good, so to see this young couple being so aware if you will, gives me some hope for the future.
@@eriklarsson3188 no one asked
I feel absolutely awful for the sister who wants to be an astronaut. The way her other two sisters side-eyed her & each other was just cruel, & you could tell that the sister could feel it happening. They showed her no support, only the attempt to repress ridicule as they were all on camera. She looked so uncomfortable after. I hope you get to the moon. I hope your dream comes true.
It’s funny because Savannah is obviously the brains of the family and they resent her for it! Maybe they’re just jealous
That shot looked like straight out of modern Cinderella movie tbh! they had the evil step-sister look down to the T 🤣
My heart broke. The look of shame in her face after sharing her passion was devastating to see.
This struck me to heart, too. I love her awesome space shirt and she lit up with such joy. I hope she knows she's a firework! 🎉❤
Hahahha!!! that's her goal to be an astronaut.😂😂😂😂😂
It's fantastic to see soo many young boys/men doing dance. All kids should be encouraged to do some form of dancing
Max and Olivia look like such Perfect little avatars and have the grace to match .There enthusiasm , humor and how well they work together is very impressive to me at such a young age !
This is great, finally a produced show that highlights the positive aspects of ballroom dancing...no drama...just good vibes! Thank you for making this!
No wonder Savanna hates dance. I'm sure they've belittled her aspirations until she completely turned away from it :( it's really sad to see and i hope her family can be kinder even if they don't understand
😢
I spent about 20 years training ballroom dancing, I was quite successful as a dancer, later as a coach and a choreographer. I had to quit due to multiple knee injuries. I have worked as a compere at competitions for years and at present I am trying to "come out of retirement" and re-train as a swing dancer. I must say that I have a lot of doubts regarding the children's adult costumes, make-up and moves, all of which are omnipresent in the mainstream ballroom dancing.
Why do children have to "do things 100%"? Why can't we remove that pressure & let them enjoy it? Passion is crushed that way. Eventually, over time, it will be crushing. Even if they become the best, they will never feel good enough. Look at how many children that are deemed brilliant in school suffer later in life. I was one of those children, & the pressure nearly killed me. However, I am genuinely passionate about academics, now pursuing a PhD in Anthropology. If I didn't have this passion, the pressure would definitely have killed me.
This! Of course some friction and tension creates a want to strive further, but these children are pushed beyond what's healthy for their body. The amount of stress used in that little body for not only physical but also mental abilities to get through this is insane, and I believe people aren't educated well enough about the toll it takes. People doing stuff like this retire ridiculously early.
Oh goodness, poor Savanna. Sitting there between her 2 siblings talking about being an astronaut, etc….it was so difficult to watch. Her sisters ignored her, and looked like they couldn’t wait to get away from her. It seemed to me she may be on the spectrum.
And she should be tested accordingly and any accommodations put in for her competitions because hypersensitivity is common in these kids.
I admire Savanna for wanting to pursue something totally different from her siblings. I suspect that she will have more options in her career, even if she does not become an astronaut.
You're assuming a lot from very little information. Are you Trans or fruit?
She is on the spectrum. If you have seen the other parts of this series you would know.
@@MarieIIe which is exactly what I said, that she appeared to be on the spectrum. So obviously I did not need to see the other parts of the series.
Now my little Kendall could fit right in with these kids
Im a ballroom instructor and I feel like it'd be so fun to teach kids. They looks so cute in their little tuxes and dresses. ❤😊
Not all children can do ballet lesson, it can be very difficult/strict but any 5 year old could learn to do a box step in American smooth 🤷♂️
So great to see younglings to be shepherded but not constrained in the way of life. I really hope they both will experience the joy of dancing in a way they can express themselves.
Addendum: Energy never wasted, purpose may be undefined, still be encouraging future.
how is this not constrained? Seems to me to be precisely that.
Loved this series !,, bravo to these young talented dancers 👏👏👏👏👏and a big applause to Olivia’s mum who keeps Olivia’s look very age appropriate she is simply stunning ! Such a lovely personality …
I think Olivia has a promising future! She never created a single excuse as to why they placed the why they did. Yet her partner has loads of reasons and gets a bit chippy for not being first! Yes their are judges that are going to be more critical. But I can promise you they will only become more critical the older you get with way more competition. I Wrestled for 17 years nonstop on every level imaginable in 3 different types of Wrestling freestyle, collegiate, and Greco Roman. I learned before I was 10 that if I want to win I had to train harder practice more than anyone I was going to wrestle. So that when I Wrestle at the end of wrestling match their was absolutely no question who won! And with what ever free time I had I would go and record all of our rival matches to study them! As well as every referee that could be potentially refining me. Each referee and judge are different but I had all of their differences memorized each year. So I guess what I am saying is the better you are the less you have to worry about the judges. And the more times you have to only concentrate on your dancing. Great job to them all regardless of their place and performance.
Late to this but i love how they have a all girl couple and not just the standard girl and boy couple . I love this for these kids and wish my daughter had an interest in something like this . Beautiful 🥹
I wonder if Dancing with the Stars/Strictly Come Dancing are responsible for the uptick in young ballroom dancers! Those shows certainly make me want to dance!
It’s parents living vicariously through their kids, and kids wanting the approval of their parents.

“Third”
“No no no no no, second, trust me I know”
😂
Poor kid. Max why do you like to dance. My family is a dancing family. Not I love to do it, I have to do it because that's what my family wants. And Olivia sounds difficult to take. Like she's been told she's the best and that's what her self worth is linked to. Look at the way she shuts down Max when he tells her they're 3rd not 2nd. Why do such young kids have to be the best of the best? Let the poor kids have a childhood. Plenty of time for huge amounts of pressure to be heaped on them when they're a bit older.
Those two kids arguing with each other are so cute.
Olivia is so beautiful. Also I love the all girl pairs!!!
No one talks about the price of being in these competitions for the clothes for the lessons. I’m sure that the parents except the ones that are well to do that are in the dancing industry. I can’t afford it but the other ones probably have to take away from the rest of the family to put into these acts it’s a little sad.❤
Sadly, what you said is very true. The majority of dancing, costs a fortune and that's before you add in competitions. I asked an adjudicator once, why couldn't they put a limit on the costs associated with completions and he couldn't answer it. Now it wasn't ballroom dancing but Irish dancing. My friend did say that they prefer, when competitors wear more toned down uniforms but that the really over the top dresses/uniforms catch the judges eyes before the toned down dresses and I think it's the same with ballroom dancing. The more over the top the dress, suit, the more likely the judge will take notice, will see you. Because there are so much in demand, dress makers can charge whatever they want. They really do take advantage of the market. They charge thousands for something that only costs a fraction of this for the material and time spent making the outfit. I know a dressmaker who designs and makes so many different types of dresses, suits but never charges an exorbitant amount of money. She turns away a lot of business because it's not her main income anymore and just does it as a side gig purely for the love of creating personal designs. She made the dresses for an entire wedding party once, bride and 3 bridesmaids but the bride added a 4tj bridesmaids dress last minute that my friend Just didn't have time to do so the bride went to another dress maker to get that 1 bridesmaids dress maid and that 1 dress coat the same of the other 3 bridesmaids dresses combined. Before the 4th bridesmaid dress was added, the 4 dresses coat less than going out to buy a dress but adding in the extra dress meant it would have been cheaper to buy the dresses. Because the other dress maker new it was last minute and you couldn't buy this dress anywhere, she charged whatever she wanted. People, sadly take advantage of others. Competition entrance fees are the less expensive part of the competition. The high cost of dresses and suits is making parents take out loans to pay for it, which is really tough. Having 1 child doing dance is expensive but having more than 1 child is unreachable for most and most parents won't let one dance and not the other as it's unfair so both miss out. Dance studios could also help out by not charging so much and having personal dressmakers on their books but, the majority won't .
Luckily they have a sponsor so their clothes are free
@@Hairbrush_1very few have sponsors,unfortunatelly.
Those who do the best as youngsters usually come from parents who are dance teachers
These kids can dance really good
What a lovely personality Olivia has.
Yes... so perpetually positive.
Olivia definitely looked nervous during the standard comp. Sienna's hair style gave her more of a lift for her vertical line. Olivia definitely was the star of the latin division. Great dancing always begins with great instructors. These kids are so fortunate and talented.
37:55 Love their sportsmanship, giving their congrats to their rivals. And mom saying: they're still your friends! Way to go.
This is an old show from 2018. Did they continue the series on another platform? I really wanted to follow the progress of all the dancers featured in this dance school.
Isn't Mark Ballas's mother Shirley still a studio owner and instuctor in England? I know Derrick and Julianne Hough used to live and train with Mark and his parents there. It's why they're all as close as siblings to this day.
Olivia is simply gorgeous.
The Dad/ Teacher, I feel is wonderful and has a great sense of humor.🙏💕🙏💕
What are you talking about? He be rated that kid in public. He gave him a glam face thing and embarrassed him during the competition. He’s the reason why they broke up what sense of humor? The guy has no sense of humor.
@@TheCelchi I think she's taking about Warren
Really makes me glad to have done a team sport
Nothing wrong with dancing and having fun. But these kids are way too precocious for their age . Too much is placed on winning and competing in this world. Very sad. We need God to come back more than ever .
Seeing this made me realize how much different dance studios actually are. my dance studio has a rotating system for example, all the girls switch to another boy after a few minutes. And its more normalized to wear pants instead of a dress for girls
Makes no sense for females to dress like males in trousers. None what so ever, there needs to be male and female polarity, and that includes clothing.
But is the competitiveness taking away the fun?
Or the competitiveness adds the fun?? Kids are different. There are kids really flourish on competitions, while others are very afraid.
All 3 sisters are brave to pursue what gives them meaning.
It's true girls love to wear high heels. I remember my first pair and how i felt so grown-up, it really boosts your self esteem. 😊
I remember prancing around @ the age of 3 or 4 in these little plastic heels you could get back in the 70's that came with a matching necklace, ring and tiara. Felt like a grown up princess. We girls really do start loving those things awfully young. I guess it's in our DNA because I never saw my mother in heels and didn't really watch tv except Saturday morning cartoons. There were only 3 channels then so, not much to choose from.
I absolutely hate wearing high heels. They are elegant and look great, but I won’t wear them.
@@misslora3896 I'm the opposite! Every woman in my family has been super feminine and loved stuff like high heels since they were young. Not me though. I like how they look but I just don't know where I'd wear them 😅 I just get sore feet after an hour and there's always lots of ice where I live. I always feel slightly in awe whenever I see a lady rocking tall heels though: so elegant!
Nice, cute, uniquely, and greatly talented. These are not easy. 😊
Too bad Max’s father screwed up that couple. The way he talk to his son was disgraceful you could tell Olivia was not into it and I’m sure that’s the reason for the break up. If I have to face this idiot, supposedly professional dancer I would’ve pulled my kid away from this guy as fast as possible, he ruined his friends chances by his insistence. He’s a kid the way he was talking to him embarrassing. Him like that in public? He looked rather pleased that they had broken up. The guy is a jerk. The mom knew it. The all the moms knew it. I was watching those two ladies listen to him the way he was berating that poor kid has been.
They broke up? As dance partners?
@@cappiece3786 yes 🙁
One set of parents said We tried him at this and we tried him at that. Nowhere did they say they asked him if he wanted to do any of those things. That's sad
I hate the parents who always just want to win to me winning is nice but I would want my kid to lose sometimes as so they don't get to cocky. Plus you don't always win in life its a good lesson taking a loss so they know how to handle themselves better and appreciate the wins more while staying humble.
I do dance and I'm no were near the best but it took a few years to get the improvement trophy at the concert and it felt good that my teachers saw my improvements, so even if it took a few years it was the hard work and determination that made me feel good and inspired me more to be even better for myself as the years come by.
Wow this was so interesting and fun to watch thanks ! For the upload , omghh all girl couple I did not know that exist so cool
Great video I want to see more.
This is from baby ballroom on Netflix
wonderful
It feels completely wrong turning kids into adults living such a competitive life at such a young age. The parents seem to be the most ambitions ones. In times with rampant pedophilia these kids are easy pray.
As true as there are paedophiles everywhere it doesn't or shouldn't mean your kids don't leave the house. They can still do things they love and be kept safe
@@ocodeskamcdbsm yes, that’s true, but the more we dress kids like adults and make them behave like adults the more inviting they become to pedophiles, unfortunately
@@marionbraun8773 I don't agree with kids wearing makeup to impress judges in completions or to help with the overall "package" but I also don't think kids should be prevented from doing what they love. Yes parents instill the "win at all cost" mentality. There are sadly, plenty of situations that kids aren't being made to look like adults and are still "inviting" to paedophiles. People should do what they love, adults and kids, stay safe and not stop because of the possibility of something horrific happening. You can't live your life or make your children live a life based around fear. That isn't a life
Get ur mind out of the gutters
I do get the idea of pedophiles..but they can be everywhere. You must train your kids early and have that talk with them about pedophiles and situations that can make them feel uncomfortable. Mostly that they don't feel afraid to come forward and tell someone if they feel scared or uncomfortable in anything. I grew up in a dance studio in Chicago IL. My dad owned it for about 20 years. I never once had any man or woman make me feel uncomfortable. They were all into themselves and their dancing. But theses days with all the new trends of popular sexual ways of life it is not safe..sad to say. Train your kids early. I had the talk with both of my kids at age 5 and then kept repeating myself as they got older but advanced the conversation.
Wonderful!!
Is this in the Uk? I follow a dance group in Ukraine but didn’t realize it was this prolific in Europe.
12:41 Savannah, I think it would be great if you went and saw the stars too, even if no one else in your family thinks it's a noble cause.

Sorry, but no. While I like dancing and I think more young people should be encouraged to go out and do some form of dancing, I am heavily against competing at such a young age, with heavy make-up, glittering costumes, and fake tan. It also gives vibes of over-zealous mothers and fathers, not unlike American Beauty Peagants or Figure Ice Skating.
They're doing this anyway on TikTok
I wonder if they'll get married
Would rather watch real ballroom dancers, young and older than DWTS dribble
Time out look into her eyes she is not having fun off the scenes
Idk but i got a bad feeling about this, the adult clothing und competition… why can‘t they just be children?
Why this is a shocking? When you have intense competition you're going to hurt feelings. Sometimes people will do much not be second place and feel like a loser. Literally every over achiever I knew in high school and Uni was an a-hole, but that's from my POV. From their POV they were they wanted to be the best.
Appalling.
GoodLord , parents look like lumps, mom tries to make a show, poor dads, Onslo from Keeping up apperparances.
disturbing
I say healthy, what's disturbing is sex 'education' for four year olds in American schools, children taught they can chose their sex, children being medicated and later mutilated doing irreversible damage, and of course, baby boys being mutilated when born. In fact, all of that is far more than disturbing, it's a nation suffering from collective mental i**ness.
Why?????
2 girls dancing with themselves? -Really?
It's because there aren't enough guys in ballroom dancing, and it's a way for them to advance and then find a male partner.
If they didn't do that the artform would die because there wouldn't be nearly enough couples. Homophobic jerk
who the F cares?
LMAO you're the one commenting, if you don't care don't watch how hard is that concept 😂
Well you clicked on the video
A child’s body is not developed enough to make ballroom dances look good. And two little girls dancing together is utterly ridiculous.
what a creepy thing to say. 😳 since when is ballroom dancing about what body parts they do or don’t have instead of the actual dance. and two little girls dancing together is not ridiculous, it doesn’t mean they are gay or whatever you’re suggesting, they’re little girls it doesn’t mean anything. stop sexualizing children.
