Can't sell EVs while under-delivering on promised range. Doesn't help that fast-charging is often inconsistent or unreliable on top of fast-charging hubs with more than four chargers often being 50-100 miles apart. People were banking on Tesla's superchargers but right now, nobody knows what will happen with those now that Elon has fired the whole department on a whim.
How about discussing how many charging stations are powered by burning coal ?
The manufacturer may say an EV will go 300 miles, but usually EV's batteries not driven to zero battery charge, and typically batteries are not charged to 100%. So EVs get much less range than what the manufacturer says. If an EV is in a accident, even a minor one where the battery is damaged, most likely the EV becomes a commodity car; this means its value is for scrap parts and materials, the battery is destined for a landfill as toxic waste. The batteries are difficult to repair and too expensive to replace, it's the end of the road for the EV. This is not good the environment and not energy efficient!
Wrong on all counts: EVs are safer, cleaner, cheaper, more reliable, faster, keep their value and are more fun. And they don't give your family cancer.. And the batteries can be 99% recycled, and are being. (You can't recycle petrol.)
You are incorrect with the price of hybrids. They are more expensive than ICE vehicles but are cheaper than EV’s.
EVs do more harm to the environment than ice vehicles.
