Green, kaffe, cup of tea, any illusion block, jelly roll, Chris English, evenings, in a chest of drawers, since I was at school, but then had a looooong break of around 50 years, started again this year.

Welcome back to quilting!!! And yes - Chris English! I was supposed to meet up with him when Quiltcon was in Atlanta before it got pandemic cancelled. I’ll have to make that happen at some point for sure!

Shades of aqua, Anna Maria Horner, Water (I know, its boring), 9-patch, half-yard, anytime that I can but I'm better in the evening and at night, anywhere I can find an open spot, about 10 years or so, a sampler quilt. This was fun. Made me think!

Dark pink, lavender & navy, Amy Butler (still), water or tea (no food that will dirty my fabric), no favorite block but I use a lot of HSTs, FQ or charm pack, don't know, afternoons (best lighting), fabric is stored on shelves (on boards or in bins) in my very small sewing space, sewing for 25ish years and quilting for less than two. Add on question: What's my next goal? Learning to sew clothes that for myself.

I love navy blue! Not many other blues but Navy… 😊♥️. That’s a great next goal! Best to you in that adventure!

Fall greens and oranges. No favorite fabric designer. Glass of water with a cover in case I spill it😅. Half square triangles rule the world. Favorite fabric cut is a yard of whatever is on the sale wall. Brenda from conquering mount scrapmore and Michelle from bits and pieces quilting as I follow both of them on you tube for male quilters it’s Rob Apell and the Quilting Marine because both men have overcome major life problems. I like mornings because the sun hits me the face in my sewing room in the afternoon plus the dog is not wanting attention then. On hangers in my closet then in clear plastic lidded tubs. Been sewing since age 12, quilting since age 64 and I’m turning 71 in a couple of weeks. Storm at sea is a quilt I want to make because I love the ocean!

It's 8:15 on a Saturday, I've cleaned the kitchen, made some bacon for breakfast and now I can have some coffee with Amy.
    Love the videos!
    Purple, like my hair.
    Ruby Star Society.
I completely agree about the coffee! I also drink it black and make it strong, but I will admit to having a stash of various chocolate caramel treats in my sewing room.
Nine Patch, cause it's simple and I've made many different sizes including minis from 1 1/2 inch squares.
    1/2 yard.
I agree about Elinor Burns she seems like a fun gal, but I'd also like to meet you and my other fav quilting TH-camr Dave of Dave's craft room.
Anytime but morning is best when it's cool and quiet (until I start playing my records)
I have a bunch of those cubbie shelves you buy at Target and assemble in the closet in my sewing room. I also have a stack of boxes with scraps, strips, projects and sorted squares of various sizes in front of the shelves. Some under my bed also. I have five of my sewing machines (I own 12 total) under my kitchen table.
I made my first quilt around 1979 when I was in college. Was going to give it to my bf but as you may guess, we broke up before I finished it. I still have it. So that's over 40 years now Egads!
I STARTED a Double Wedding Ring (still have the acrylic templates) and sewed all of the "melons" and started to assemble it. I put it away for a bit then when I pulled it out I hated the fabric, who picked this? I sent it to my sister who gave it to her charity group and someone finished it. I did make Denyse Schmidt's Freewheeling Single Girl, it was a lot easier.

Blue. Easier to say LEAST favorite fabric designer (Kaffe Fassett). Coffee. I'm with you on HSTs! And with @jeandryja6992 on "yard of whatever is on sale". YOU, of course! And also the late Nancy Zieman ("Sewing with Nancy"/PBS). Definitely mornings, although I do a fair amount of evening sewing, too (save the easy stuff for evening). Most of my stash yardage is stored in an antique Hoosier cabinet (treasured legacy from my grandmother, and it holds a ton); FQs and scraps (organized by cut size) are in clear plastic lidded shoeboxes that happen to fit in/on an old sturdy book shelf. I learned to sew at age 5 so ... 70 years (doesn't seem possible!), started quilting 20+ years ago. Never have made Drunkard's Path or Snail Trail and never will (because I think they're ugly ;)

    • @amydement.
      @amydement.  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Oh Toni you made me spit my coffee! 😆. I like a drunkards patch unit but not the jagged layout but like you I am NOT a fan of snails trail plus it just makes me think of slime and that’s just gross! ♥️

I don't think I'll remember all the questions but,
      My favorite color is purple.
My favorite block is 9 patch. So versatile.
My fabric is kept on bookshelves folded on cardboard. Arranged by length. Wish I had the patience to make it by color also, but too many other things are more important.
Popular quilt I haven't made is also log cabin.
Been sewing since I was 7. Quilting since I was about 10.
Favorite fabric designer has to be Kaffe.
Person I've learned from, Angela from Midnight Quilter.
My added question is what one notion won't you give up?

    • @amydement.

A notion I won’t (can’t) give up is my Bohin needle threader for hand sewing needles. It is a necessity!
