Stefinatrix thats also an excellent idea but probably harder to cut replacements for it rather than just a square that can be done on the table or Miters saw
@@PenaltyBoxWoodshop No doubt, but one could whip up a quick jig and crank out a pile of inserts in short order for later use. Either way, that's a great table and fence.
I did something quite similar. I wanted a smaller table 4 my drill press. Once I grooved it all out, I cut it n half. Glued it back 2 back, so then I could use the dove tails on the underside 2 use the matchfit clamps 2 mount and unmount the table 2 the drill press. I also used 1 of the squares like u did for replacement pieces.
Thanks a lot Jesse , I have been thinking about building this and now with the Microjig Dovetail system it will be fantastic. Stay well to your family and you my friend
You really nailed that vid. So clever, I have a good drill press but it will be safer with this table. I have been nursing a cut finger for a week and thinking more of safety. 🙏 PS. Clamps arrived, solid firm little clamps. They work beautifully with the dovetail slots.
@@dcoar4601 If you think three tiny screws make these things strong enough to install upside down, you are delusional. I realize some folks install them this way, but it is mechanically unsound. If you cannot install them with the flange on the bottom, you should use a threaded insert instead.
Great! I built one using your video and ideas. Now I can use some help. Any ideas on making a fixture for our tables to mount / hold a hose for dust collection on the drill press table?
You might make it just a little shorter side to side, but as long as it is mounted securely, the extra space is nice and the overhang will not be an issue. It is not our design, you can check in with Penalty Box directly for details: www.youtube.com/@PenaltyBoxWoodshop
Josh, you can find him here and ask directly: th-cam.com/users/PenaltyBoxWoodshop The style is a pretty typical T-Track type clamp. I'm not sure about the threaded insert he used. he can tell you.
Offsetting the sacrificial piece is a great tip.
JIM KOWNACKI thanks! Makes them last a lot longer!!
Some designs use an offset circle so you can just turn it a bit to get a clean spot.

Stefinatrix very true!!! Thank you!
Thanks! Just saw your MJ dovetail/t-track holddown setup, great idea, classic "why didn't I think of that" moment. Much appreciated!
What a great little project; I'm doing it next! Thanks for the extremely crisp and clear presentation. Make more please.

liked the video, very much. quiet, nice pace of work, nice music. a pleasure to watch. neat project too
Thank you I learnt a lot from your video, I just wondered why you didn't use a circular sacrificial piece which has a longer life span?

I love the dovetail clamping system! I’m using it on all of my shop projects now!
Thanks. Just ordered the Amanda countersink.
In sure you know that you put the Tee Nuts in upside down, right? Thanks for sharing!
The video is from Penalty Box Woodshop. You can ask about that on their channel. They are well worth subscribing to!
These are brad hole tee nuts and are meant to be installed in the manner shown.

great job!
Thank you!

I’m liking the video so far. I’m almost done with mine too. Where do I get those hold downs for underneath? And the part the hold down screwed not??
WOW - good job👍👍👍 - greeitng from Germany :))👍
Question, why do you need a double thickness for the table? All the videos show gluing two pieces together for tables.
Very well done on the video. I am inspired.
What is the countersink drill bit please? Make & model? Thanks.
Do you think these dimensions would be appropriate for a 10" drill press or would the size be overkill?

Do you have a link for the clamps you used to attach the table to the drill press table?

Where did you find the clamps that hold the table to drill press table? (from underneath)
I please provide a response. Thanks.
Nice to not have to purchase expensive metal channels.
This guy didn’t make relief cuts 😮
True. We always recommend it, but folks can work how they want. We shared this video but did not create it.
