When you go to the bank do a sample quarter count there to test your coin counter on a regular basis.The up and down count this last 2weeks may have been the holiday weekend
There seems to be a spike the first week of every month, likely due to pensions and other government checks being received. Some employers only pay out every second week; it would be interesting to find out if that also affects sales.
If you put your keys on a key chain in the same order as the machines, even if duplicate keys are needed, you'll know which key to use. You just have to mark the 1st and 2nd keys differently so you know where to start.
I think that keeping the apartment vacant while you sell is a great idea. The person who lives there could manage the laundromat and use the shop for parking their own vehicles and storage with it empty too.
Mark if the unit is vacant even with the heat at 60 i strongly recommend you open the cold water taps to a trickle inorder for the waterlines not to freeze or bust ive had to work on many an empty unit water lines even when the heat was on lines still froze and broke . and the car wash i recommend shutting it down and draining the lines for the winter no point in having pipes burst and it costing you hundreds of bucks in plumbers bills .
It’s not that 25 cents for five minutes being expensive is the problem. The issue is having to plug a couple bucks into the machine to get your clothes dry. It shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes to dry a medium load
A quarter for 5 minutes is not bad. At my local laundromat, they are charging a quarter for 3 minutes. I agree with your idea about keeping everything vacant for the new buyer, if you do sell this place.
Haha bet you wish you had a laundry in California lol! Top loaders are now 3.75 and 30lb’s are $9.50. Recently added apply pay ( electronic payments) and raised everything.50 each because of his fees ! Dryers are 7 minute for $.25! Lucky for your customers!
In my Ca city, $2 top loads, triple load $3.50, 80lb $5.50, dryers 6 minutes .25. Med sized laundromat, people do love the “cheap ones”, just replaced 12 top loads.
are you sure on that 80 pounder price? I have never seen an 80 pounder that cheap. They are 15k to 20k new. it would take 2,700 loads to break even not counting utlities
It will be interesting to see who the new owner will be. I'll keep watching to see what happens. I can see this property being a home and a retirement project for someone who likes to tinker and talk to people. Glad to see the coin boxes will be less complicated for you key-wise :-)
Mark that one cheapest washing machine is going to hurt your sales. Yes you can increase the price on the top load washers I've seen a couple videos on TH-cam recently.
Watching this one every Friday is kind of like rooting for the underdog. You know it's not going to come out on top but I still want to see the record breaking week. It's not nearly as fun anymore though since you've taken such a negative attitude about it. If you're going to sell it I hope you do it soon and quit making video on it in the meantime - how can that be good for the sell "this is a crappy little laundromat that never makes any money and I just put in some new machines that suck and are going to break and you can't raise the prices on them anyway". It's becoming Fridays with Eeyore.
