I have a friend's family here in Canada that bought a hoarder house which like this took many many months to empty out. While in rennovation stage post clean-out, the home unexpectedly caught on fire due to some critters that had chewed through electrical wires. They had to pay for the mortgage and such while insurance took forever to process the claim etc. In the end even though they sold it for a lot, when they crunched the numbers, they had lost a great deal of money on that flip. They swore they'd never flip a hoarder house again. They have flipped many homes and done very well with the exception of the hoarder house flip. By the way I am one of your new subscribers because of your hoarder flip as I was curious. :)
My brother’s place (where my father also lives) on the outside looks like this. I spent $500 renting a dumpster + time and effort of mine & my husband’s to help him throw trash out. Hoarders are something else. They have a plan for everything…in the future. They allow things to rot and just keep it.
Was a subscriber before you got this property, but I thought it was a mistake. But once it’s done, you have to move forward and do the best you can. Been there. That’s why we strictly got big apartment complexes(Not section 8). Losses, of course, but with good managers, assistants, maintenance, good contracts and rules, it allowed the residents to live in a safe community. Was never sorry we got rid of rental houses or flipping. But do enjoy watching your struggles👍🏻
Moral of the story: cluster mucked hoarder DIY flips are big losers. Its not just the $11,000 loss - but 14 months of your time and lost opportunity costs. Your crew could have been working on viable projects. Your project manager Nikki had it right when she said you should have sold it off after you had cleared out everything - you need to promote her to being your operations manager and relegate yourself to being the acquisitions manager.
You gave something back if every entrepreneur did this the world and everyone’s lives would be better not every deal gives a profit but improves the world you and us live in it’s why I follow your channel your obviously extremely well off and care about your residents
Wow, crazy story. As they always say in business "A contract is a contract is a contract." Glad it worked out in your favor. I don't know how people can take their asset with the greatest value and completely ruin it. There has to be some mental illness there obviously. Hopefully he is able to get some help and improve his living situation in the future.
Last video the previous owner's grandson commented. I asked him to let us know how his grandpa is doing, but that was only a few minutes ago, so we'll see. Would love to know, though.

Please be careful about showing old clips. TH-cam could claim you are showing old content and demonetize you. It just now is happing to someone else I enjoy watching (Unclean Hands). The big problem is they don't tell you what video it is so it is hard to straighten out.
Here is what TH-cam says about it "For example, if you put a funny or thoughtful spin on content you didn't originally create, you've transformed the content in some way. In other words, we allow reused content if viewers can tell that there's a meaningful difference between the original video and your video." THis is for people using other people's content. So TH-cam even allows that. Now if you report the same stuff over and over I could see that being an issue but I obviously changed this video significantly from the originals.

11K is a loss but as you said could have been much worse for a place as terrible as that but yes for all that HARD work and time then come out at a loss sucks! Mark since there was no electricity or heat and i am sure were delinquent in their taxes, etc. seems they could have been considered being evicted by the town? Funny you mentioned being 'ignored' by the neighbors, i feel they should have congratulated you for increasing their home value, it seems impossible the neighbors didn't know how they were living there, no electricity, etc. Would any normal homeowner ever expect to have 1 dumpster or trash no less 4??
It’s almost like 3 or 4 drug addicts lived there, each addicted to something different. Theres a lot of tweeker activities going on in there. Some signs of some ol timer who always has a beer in his hand and at least one junkie possibly more

Its weird that in the last couple of days ive been watching hoarder flips on a show on hulu. Of course tv makes everything look like a breeze.....
