Straight to the point! Also, thanks for showing the jack points and how to Reset the ‘Oil Life’ back to 100%. Dealer was doing it, but after watching your video, I’ll be doing mine shortly.
Going to check pawn shop tool bins for used 24mm socket first! Thank you!

Great video. I subscribed because I will be doing my first oil change on my 2011 300 I bought last Father’s Day. I’m guessing that I will get and oil change note about every 5k miles or so. Is that correct? The previous owner said he just had the oil change when I bought it from him at 49k miles and now I’m at 54k or so. Have my Mopar oil filter and Kirkland 5-30 synthetic ready to go. One thing that surprised me about the 3.6 engine in the 2011 300 is the mpg. It is great and previous owner did say that is why they drove it on long trips to the coast.

Yeah not sure if it’s every 5k or 7.5k miles on the oil change alert. I’m old school and still do it every 3k even though oil is more advance nowadays but it’s what I’ve always done on all my vehicles and is probably why some of them have close to 300k miles on them and still running strong.

Take Note. Its "Plastic" & has an O-Ring so theres no need to MUSCLE IT On.

My oil cover is stuck and hard to remover (same car in the video) what can I do to remove the cover to complete the change in the oil filter?

I have never run into this problem. Assuming you still have the plastic housing have you tried holding the lower portion of the housing and using a breaker bar to break it free?

I personally wouldn’t recommend it although I have seen it work in some cases but it’s not a permanent fix just a bandaid. Do you have the 3.6 engine and can you tell where it’s coming from? I just developed an oil and coolant leak on mine well actually this is my daughter’s car. It’s coming from the oil cooler/oil filter housing it’s a very common issue on these 3.6 engines. So I went ahead and ordered a new housing with cooler and will be upgrading the old plastic housing with an aluminum one to cure this problem once and for all. So I will probably be doing a video on that. I’m assuming that’s probably where yours is leaking from as well. If you take a flashlight and shine it down where the oil filter is and it’s all wet with oil in that valley that’s your issue and it tends to drip down by the driver side cv axle under the car.

Brother my shop did a oil change but I noticed the filter area has a small leak I thnk he over filled it with 6 total. Because my dip stick wile car is hot it’s above the 2nd small hole. Can I just let some oil out from the pan ? Will that stop the small leak or should I do the gasket on filter housing area

If it’s overfilled yes you can let some out from the drain plug and pan just be careful because it will drain fast and make sure the oil isn’t hot so you don’t burn yourself. Or another way is the trick with the shop vac you take a shop vac and put it over the oil fill hole this will create a vacuum but will not suck the oil out you can then go below pull the plug and nothing will come out till you shut the vacuum off then once you get the amount out you want turn the vacuum back on and stick your drain plug in. But if it’s leaking this will not fix the leak most likely what happened is someone tightened the oil filter cap to tight because these oil filter housings are just plastic and break and start to leak very common issue on these cars.

Can I buy an oil filter from advanced auto or do you recommend mopar ? Or does it come down to preference

Pretty much comes down to preference but you can never go wrong with OEM Mopar.
