    this mechanic imo is a major factor in making bn go from a masher game to a tactical and competitive one

      It is the same as yu gi oh where when you activate a spell or trap card you can chain your card and the last card is played first and if the last card effect is to disable a card it will work but if it to destroy the card the effect of the last card will still work but still be destroyed

    I love to compare this mechanic to Yu-Gi-Oh!'s effect speeds and their interactions, they hold very similar principles especially in the order in which they resolve

    I have been struggling hard with TFC lately but this video definitely explains it well for me. Not its not such a fuzzy concept. It all just comes down to timing and and patience. Thank you Demi!

    Great video discussing a mechanic that many new players aren't aware of! One thing I want to add is that there are some cases where you can't TFC, which is known as chip lockout. There are some chips that lock you out from using any other chips for a short time after you use them. This lockout applies to TFCing as well. Knowing them all is excessive, but the big ones to keep in mind are Recovery chips, FullCust, and after firing a DarkThunder from BugDeathThunder.
    Loving all the content coming out and looking forward to more in the future!

    You also don't want to TFC with invi/anti damage when the enemy use piercing/cursor attacks respectively! That'd just waste them

      @rockingplayer015 ปีที่แล้ว

      As well TFCing area responses chips like JugdeMan and GrabRvng/Bnsh against another area control like area/panel grab

    It's always annoying when people stack 9 million defensive chips because they see top players doing that, but proceed to just use them at the start. It's even worse than when they do the same thing but just mindlessly spam TFCs usually at the cost of their lifeaura and giga chips. Honestly low-tier PVP is really fun to watch when people aren't just trying to copy the high-tier players but w/o the skill.

    So does the sequence matter? that is to say they time freeze first in hand but your time freeze is the last chip in your current hand. would you be able to counter even if your time freeze chip isn't playable yet?

    • @scoutmasterdemi
      @scoutmasterdemi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In order to counter you need to have a time freeze chip active and ready to be used!

      More like Chain Linking effects in Yugioh, except you can't chain link to your own effect, but more or less the same thing, yeah.

      So fun thing, you can use tango for pvp with the steam version. This will remove the 20 second timer, greatly improve net code, and let you start with all chips.

      Like Yugioh chaining if an opponent uses a time freeze chip you can respond with your time freeze chip and you go before that chip then that chip activates

    • @thanderhop1489
      @thanderhop1489 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use Blastman, you TFC with Invis. What happens: your Invis happens, then my Blastman.
      I use Judgeman, you TFC with Life Aura, I TFC with Eraseman. What happens: my Eraseman happens, then your Life Aura. My Judgeman doesn't happen.
      If you have a strong navi chip like Protoman ready, you might want to wait to see if they use Invis or Antidamage, and then TFC it with your Protoman. Otherwise, they can TFC your Protoman with their Invis/Antidamage. If you're in a strong position with an area advantage and a strong cross charge you can attack with, you might just sit on a strong navi chip and not use it. Your opponent will probably panic and then you counter them.
      Just don't try to TFC your opponent's Eraseman with your invis or antidamage. Your defense will go first, then Eraseman will just hit right through it.

      @weatherman1504 ปีที่แล้ว

      When someone uses their screen dimming chip, you can counter with your own screen dimming chip. When you do this, your chip goes first.
      For example, lets say you start the round with an antidmg chip and your opponent starts the round with a ProtoManSP chip. If they use that chip, you can counter with your antidmg chip. By doing this, your antidmg chip activates before their ProtoManSP chip which means that when the attack from their chip lands it triggers antidmg and negates the damage it would have done to you.

  • @meowbahhyt
    @meowbahhyt ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Mmbn3 pvp is the best because this feature isn't present. Chaining to the opponent makes it like Yugioh and the player who starts first gets put at a loss imho

    • @ezmoneyy149
      @ezmoneyy149 ปีที่แล้ว

      you realize the community is set on BN6 you can have your opinions but the player base is here

    • @bestaround3323
      @bestaround3323 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the player who starts first being at a loss is the point. TFC is meant to add counter play to mindlessly mashing time freezing chips. As otherwise they are unavoidable with no way to beat them.

    • @t-universegamer7609
      @t-universegamer7609 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ah yes, I sure enjoy being stunlocked for the rest of the round because I didnt mash the A button faster than my opponent and they used plantman. So damn fun am I right?

    • @Chymistry
      @Chymistry ปีที่แล้ว

      counterplay is good. stop spamming

    • @bestaround3323
      @bestaround3323 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand why you might dislike it, but it objectively makes for a healthier competitive scene. Battle network is a fighting game at heart, and a good fighting game needs counter play.
      BN3 does have its charm, honestly I am not sure exactly how toxic the modern PvP scene is. Folder back is definitely one of the strongest chips in the series, if not the strongest, although it may be overhyped.
