Toyota Landcruiser 1KD-FTV Engine Removal

Today I am removing the engine from a Toyota Landcruiswr 1KF-FTV, it is a 3.0 turbo diesel 4 cylinder engine! The old engine was destroyed by leaking injector seals causing oil contamination which eventually blocked the oil pick up tube, starved the engine of oil and allowed the camshaft lobes to get red hot and scored badly. This video is a checklist or rough guide of how to remove the engine.

Did you look up a service manual before this or have you done it before? Seems like a pretty big job especially if plastics and screws start snapping.

I didn’t look up any service info and I’ve never done one of these before but I have done plenty of engines and principles of removing them are the same for all vehicles!

@@maxautouk How do you remember where everything goes when re-installing the engine? I've removed dashboard from my car and I find that removing is always easier then putting it back exactly the way it was.
