    My only issue really with the Colorado they made the beds universally smaller but didn’t make the back seats 2-3in. Further back. A bigger cab would be nice. The difference a few inches would make. Lol story of my life.

      @HiPlains1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. And they will soon be alone with this. As I'm pretty sure the next gen Taco and ranger will still offer extended cabs. And Ford has been testing a crew cab with long bed (LWB) which is something they have never offered. GM says there is no market for that. More like GM wants to stream line production to max profits. Because I see plenty of Frontiers and tacomas with CC LWB. GM's plant at Wentzvill can only make about 100K trucks a year. Its not even close to that with all the constraints and supply issues. The real reason they don't care about making a longer bed is they have no issue selling the short boxes with the limited capacity they have. The real reason Toyota is number one is they have two plants and literally have twice the capacity. The twins are very popular but GM has decided to keep the single plant. Meaning buyers will likely pay full MSRP or more for a considerable time with the limited supply. Silverados are starting to see 5-6K dollar discounts. But then again they make over half million of those/year. GM is perfectly happy keeping supply low on the twins and keeping the margins high. This is why this new truck is not really a very good value IMO.

      Put a kids seat back there and see if there is room, IMHO all crew cabs need to fit a child’s seat

    • @nogamblinge2671
      @nogamblinge2671 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stephenbrown3760 that should be no issue child seats could easily fit. The crew can fit a group of shorter people 5’10
      And under no problem. Once there’s a passenger taller than that it gets tricky. If there are two 6’0 passengers in front maybe someone under 5’6 could still
      Fit but not another tall person could
      Fit back there if someone tall
      Is in front .

      Honestly, if I was going to haul people bigger than a 12 yr old regularly, I wouldn't get something so small. Minivan or crossover for pax. And if I needed a truck, I'd get a full-size. You just can't create space where it does not exist.

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah and Ford had a test mule as well for a long wheel base crew cab with long box. I always love how government motors will tell us what we want or say "there is not enough market for that? Says who? You GM? Or maybe scary Mary (ceo)? Love how they assume we are "OK" with not having a physical switch for the head lights. No extended cab option. Or only offering that crappy smallish gauge cluster on 90 percent of the builds. To get the full size cluster you have to pay north of 50 grand for a ZR2 AT4X or a denali. Yet every single half ton gets a full size cluster. Even the work truck. Also love how they totally knackered the bundles on the Trail boss. If you option the power seats that option goes away if you upgrade to the evotex seats. Like GM does not want you to have both 8 way power seat and a nicer seat covering. They intentionally gimp the bundles. And there is no option for fog lights on the trail boss. That was the real deal killer for me as that creates a saftey issue. Obviously they do this to encourage buyers to pad up their purchases buying a ZR 2 or a Z 71 to get the most basic of features they may need.

      I agree. The only mid size body on frame available in the US is the 4 runner and it does not offer three rows. And is why Toyota can't make enough of them. They get huge addendums on every one they make. The rest seem to think we need another uni body FWD POS. GM makes loads of that crap. They are the worst in fact. At least Ford made the Explorer primary RWD again like God intended. Still uni body though. But I'd take that over anything GM makes as far as mid size SUV. Also why the police like them. Oh I forget the Lexus GX 460. Basically a luxury version of the overseas Prado. Also a body on frame with the bullet proof port injected V8 with equally reliable 6 speed. Those two toyotas are the last of the line as far as japan built rugged last forever type of trucks. Right up there with the land cruiser. BTW, Toyota will soon be updating them.
