    Super sweet saw! It was interesting to watch your creative problem solving in moving and placing the new beast. Thanks for taking the time to video record the process and share it on your channel. A lot of people don't realize how much extra work it is to record while you are doing this kind of stuff. Can't wait to see the next video. Very excited for you!

      Thank you Daryn. I appreciate it. I’m really excited to show Woodworkers of all levels the process of switching to a saw like this. It was way more work than I thought it would be. But i probably made it that way. Thank you also for complimenting the problem solving aspects of this job. I was really thinking about it for a while. In the end it was very simple since I had the proper tools on hand. That pallet jack is really nice to have now too. Ugly but functional. Yes recording is much more difficult than it seems. A lot of TH-camr channels are so good at video editing, much better than me, I’m so impressed. I’ll get better eventually. Thank you again and stay tuned.

    Congrats on stepping up to a slider David. I think you’ll love it. I bought a large Felder about a year ago. Love it!
    I still have my Model 66 sitting in my shop. Just can’t bring myself to part with it.
    I don’t mention other channels in comments but there’s a custom woodworker guy out there in TH-cam who has combined his slider with his cabinet saw and router table that I’m considering.
    We all have to setup what works best for us. Love what you’re doing. Like it even more since we are practically neighbors. Wish you the very best in the New Year.

    • @ApexWoodworks
      @ApexWoodworks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rich, I think you're on the right path regarding tablesaws. If you have enough space in your shop, hold onto your tablesaw as there's times when it's the more logical of the two saws to use. I made the mistake of selling my venerable Unisaw when I got my Felder K700S slider, thinking I'd no longer need a tablesaw. Wrong! I managed to pick up an Inca tablesaw, which I positioned over near my assembly table for those quick and easy cuts that are often needed at that point in a build.

    • @richthomas5013
      @richthomas5013 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ApexWoodworks I worked at shop that decided to bring in a slider. It was clear a few of the crew had NO business being anywhere near the slider. Another reason I’ve chosen to keep mine.

    • @davidbryanwoodworksandmore
      @davidbryanwoodworksandmore  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot Rich. I am holding onto my cabinet saw to see where I can put it. It’s really nice to have both I’m sure if there is enough space. The problem is the space isn’t just to put the saw but to use it also. I was looking at incorporating the General into my out feed table but it would make it so much less usable as it is closer to the back wall. This would prohibit longer rips Or dados. I’m loving this slider for dados as I didn’t think I would. But It’s very nice indeed. I know what channel your talking about with the two saws, he’s a very talented woodworker, he has more space for his table saw than I do. But that was exactly what I was thinking I’d do. Thanks for the great discussion and now I’m wondering how close you are to me?

Felder k700s from what I’ve seen are very nice machines also. But like you I’ve not used one, only seen them at trade shows. Oh Marty. You are funny. I’ve been very blessed to have a great small shop that I’d definitely call a professional shop. Just not to the scale of large commercial space. It’s also nice to not have to worry about rent in these seriously expensive spaces. I’d take a larger shop if it was on my property or I owned the building but I have seen so many shops close doors when the market turned down. It happens fast. Especially when companies go out and get big equipment that they can’t pay for. My shop is very efficient for me and I’m very lucky to have it. I think if you watch my build videos, you’d see it’s pretty efficient for me. This is always a big debate, the shop space debate, thank you for bringing it up.
